If a terrorist attack occurs at a basketball tournament site
who will the "conservatives" blame? We have discovered by their actions over the past six years that "conservative" republicans will take responsibility for absolutely nothing. A strange action from the party of integrity and honesty.

No doubt, they have the talking points already written and ready to fax if such an event occurs to every talking head from coast to coast. But, as we know, republicans don't politicize the war on terror.

8. Wow, you are right
The one I don't understand though is their insistance that Clinton invented oral sex. Me and my girlfriend discovered (invented?) oral sex back in the early 70's at a drive in movie long before I heard of Bill Clinton. I would have to chat with them about that, but yeah, hey, blame Clinton for everything, especially eight years of peace and prosperity.

14. No, you're wrong.
Me and MY girlfriend invented oral sex in the woods behind her house in the 70's. I don't know how Clinton got ahold of that invention...

24. Guess there was a lot of
oral sex going on in the early 70's from coast to coast. Nasty liberals and their sex lives and their insistence that we don't invade foreign countries. Degenerates.

18. Actually I'll be blamed
Back in 03, I was called a coward by a chickenhawk (three times by three different chickenhwaks actually) so I'll be an easy target to blame. I had the audacity to oppose our going to war in Iraq. Boy was I proven wrong!?!?!?

FYI, the April issue of Esquire magazine has a short story by James Lee Burke about Katrina. He is a powerful writer. (Don't know if its on the newsstand yet) Heading to Slidell tomorrow for some banking business. I'll be back in the quarter in the next couple of weeks. Our 32nd anniversary is early April and I know the quarter is the best place to shop. My wife had her eye on a shirt at Margaritaville but she wouldn't buy it because it cost $45.00. "I'm not spending $45.00 on a shirt." So I will get it for her for our anniversary, and other stuff too. I've come full circle from dreading going to the quarter to looking for excuses to make that trek. Good sign, I hope.

29. Happy anniversary to you both! 32 years is quite a feat!
Congratulations! :hi:

You're so nice to go back and get the shirt for her. Have fun in the quarter!

My LA sister-in-law is in Kentucky helping to take care of her seriously ill grandson (Mr. CB's great nephew) who is in the ICU on a respirator with both pnuemonia and the flu. :( We are awaiting word from her on his condition and when she might return home. We have thoughts of attending the French Quarter Festival. I hope no more wrenches are thrown into our plans!

I just bought an 'Athens' Sweetshrub (Calycanthus Floridus) for a birthday gift for my friend. It is a native shrub that is super fragrant. This particular variety was discovered in Ahtens, GA.
I wish I had room in my garden for one but I don;t have enough space. I'll have to wait until I buy a place in the country.

32. Best wishes and good thoughts
to your great nephew. My mother was a nurse and took care of everybody but herself. She died 40 years ago this week of pneumonia. She got a cold on Christmas day 1965 and it just got worse. I'm going to two nurseries tomorrow. I tell the wife I won't buy as many plants as last year. I've been saying that for years. But she loves my efforts.

We are just two wacky liberals maintaining the sanctity of marriage without hating anyone to do it.

33. Thanks for the good thoughts.
Michael is slowly improving as per the last report. However, he is sedated in a semi-coma state in order to keep him from pulling out the tubes. He is his parent's only child. Fortunately, he lives in a town with a major university research hospital with a pediatric unit. He's getting the best care posssible.

Have fun shopping for plants! I only had 15 minutes to spend at the nursery near my house this morning! I could have stayed for hours! :)

7. If a terrorist attack happens anywhere, we won't be able to blame anyone
We'll be in martial law lockdown so fast that your head will spin. And daring to question, much the less criticize the chimp in chief will be a one way ticket to Gitmo for some extreme rendition.

And what's really sad is that the majority of Americans would welcome such a move, just so they can feel "safe"

I fully admit I'm a deeply cynical individual. Trouble is that they keep proving my cynicism correct all the time, and sometimes go to depths that I don't even begin to fathom. Just fucking sad.
