AP Poll: One third of white evangelicals prefer Democratic Congress
That sound you hear is Rove screaming.

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/politics/3728864.html

An Associated Press-Ipsos poll conducted last week found that only 36 percent of white evangelicals approved of the way Congress is handling its job, down from 51 percent a year ago. Fifty-three percent of white evangelicals want the Republicans to keep their majority control of Congress in November, while a third said they would prefer a Democratic takeover of Congress.

1. If a third of eveangelics vote Democratic or even sit out the election
in November we will win back the house and senate.

6. thanks for reminding people
In a society where 94% of the population believes in God/80% are certain and only 1% are convinced atheist it is ludicrous to imagine that a progressive majority can be built without the support of lots and lots of religious people. See Gallup poll:http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001659292

Furthermore, many progressive Christian groups are decidedly on the progressive/left end of the political spectrum. This is the reality.
Religion may not be my thing. But that's beside the point. The abolition movement, the civil rights movement, the peace movement and almost every other movement for social change in American history could never ever have gotten off the ground without their help. It 's impossible.
