"Bush won't seek payback for ports backlash" - you've gotta be kidding me!
From U.S. News & World Report, check out this nonsense:

Bush won't seek payback for ports backlash

By Kenneth T. Walsh

President Bush is trying to put the furor over the seaports issue behind him, even though he believes the Dubai company's withdrawal last week from the original deal (to partially operate six ports) could damage U.S. relations with other "moderate" Arab countries.

White House insiders say Bush isn't interested in retribution against members of Congress who defied him on the deal, which he strongly backed.

Ooh, retribution!

As if Dubya is in a position to seek revenge. Looks like he's still kidding himself about having political capital - either that or his advisers haven't filled him in on the latest polls.

If it quacks like a duck and walks with a limp...

1. He doesn't realize that the sands have shifted....
He should have taken that vote on the ports deal as a warning. The Repubs are not going to follow him anymore so long as he is where he is in the polls. If he thinks he still has everyone on a string, he's waiting for another slapdown.

2. Ha ha ha ha! How munificent of him!
What a guy! What a wonderful, compassionate leader.

I think we should all stop hating him now.

6. I can't believe they even put that out there.
"Bush will not be throwing pies or administering wedgies to those members of Congress who opposed the ports deal..."

7. He's too busy plotting his revenge for Harriet Myers
The man hasn't vetoed a bill in six years. What could he possibly be upset about?

8. Dubai has the ports and will sell them someday. Dubai & * got what
they wanted. The wool has been pulled over the public's eyes - again. Congress looks like heros. What's to retribute against?

9. He thinks he's taking the high ground if he's not a vengeful pig????
How remarkably indecent of the bastard. He's going to NOT retaliate against people who were just doing the right thing in the first place, and he thinks this makes him a good guy?????????????

We're all stuck in a political farce. This administration is by Moliere, it has to be.

10. Of course he won't seek payback. He'd love nothing more than for
this issue to quietly disappear. Even with his limited mental capacities, he knows that any more attention he draws to the ports fiasco is just gonna come back to kick him in the ass.
