11. Opportunistic Leaders

Yesterday I was reading one of the LaRouche newsletters. I am not the biggest fan of LaRouche, but I do read at least of little of his newsletters every now and then. In this newslettler La Rouche point out the story of an opportunistic leader. It was mainly and ancedote. It goes like this: There was a French leader sitting in a coffee shop talking to some of his political foes. While talking to his foes he saw a large group of revolutinaries ran past the coffee shop. The leader then rose from his seat and said "That is my revolution which just rushed by; I must run out to lead it!". I think that is a great story.

btw that story has been told many times in many variations. I highly doubt that it's a Larouche original.

You really should be careful about reading stuff that will rot your mind.

I did not post the story in support of LaRouche. I posted it in order to expand on what the previous post had said. I never thought it was a LaRouche original, I just thought it was a great story for the moment.

3. See how Murtha isn't going away? Remember how the GOP robots

said his proposal was dead in the water? It wasn't workable? It should be dismissed?

Funny then, isn't it, how he still manages to get air time. Funny how his opinion continues to be sought, and he doesn't back down. Funny how the media is FORCED to seek him out, because when he goes on the air, the ratings skyrocket. And it is all about the revenues with those clowns...such a corporate conundrum!

Although many want action to happen immediately, this is a drip, drip, drip strategy--and the Democrats could not have picked a better, more credible point man to do this tough and unrelenting work. Murtha deserves even more credit than we are giving him, and we are giving him plenty. It's no day at the beach for an older, senior congressman to have to do this sort of 'fire and brimstone' advocacy, but he is doing a superb job of it. He's more than earned my admiration.

He didn't happen to have any cameras around or anything, but despite what Mean Jean has to say, Murtha is tougher than an old boot.

4. Russert... repeating WH prop...

"what if you are wrong and by the end of the year the govt is stable, the economy is robust, and the military is ready to take over..." (granted he didn't ask it like he believed it) ... and it struck me...

The Admin is trying to pass off a ridiculous fantasy.... end of the year is 8.5 months away - how is every thing that is so messed up - suddenly after three years going to miraculously become all wonderful strong and stable .... the idea is so ludicrous ... the violence is spiking, it does appear now to be a full out civil war... but bushco prop is trying to sell the idea that everything is going to turn around in less than 9 months? Based on what evidence? Oh, thats right they don't need no stinkin' evidence - they just claim it as true and expect us to believe it.

Btw, Murtha's response was spot on - pointing out specific listed measures that could point to benchmarks and that right now things look very, very bad.

6. I am watching now, Murtha is STRONG!!!!

When I go by the graveyard at Arlington, it doesn't say Democrat or Republican...

When I voted for this war I was wrong...when you have an administration that is isolated, insulated from reality...40% of the troops don't know their mission, 70% want out of there....

Everything is NOT going fine in Iraq...our national reputation is being diminished substantially...

The election will be a referendum on the war, Katrina, medicare...but mostly the war...

They're trying to blame the MILITARY for what happened in Iraq....

It's a CIVIL WAR...

I expect them to ANNOUNCE withdrawals by the election (not actually do any)....

Or tape it, if they can't miss HBO!! It really was the first WORTHWHILE "Meet the Potatohead" I've seen in some time. General Casey was his usual wussy self, but Murtha more than made up for it in his segment.

How hard can it be for some of our Dem 'leaders' to say that. They engage in double speak, trying to satisfy all sides. It doesn't work that way.

Say the damn words: "I changed my mind."

All together now. THose who supported this war and want to have any how of getting the nomination (listen up, Hillary) Say the damn word:

"I changed my mind."

It could be very liberating.
