Bill Kristol admits Feingold Censure Action very effective. He said ....

Feingold was a very principled Senator and that keeping the NSA scandal in the headlines hurts Bush and the GOP. ( Fox News Sunday)

1. Heh, even the devil knows
Evil masterminds know when to shift gears unlike brutal buffoons like Bush who just pound away like a mindless pitbull.

2. The debate about censure is probably more damaging than a vote for
censure itself. If you have a vote, then people stop talking about it.

9. EXACTLY - censure s IN COMMITTEE right now where the debate
and examination of documents can continue.

Too many DUers haven't understood that rushing to declare a vote on censure now is what the GOPs want. Feingold WANTED the debate slowed down and allowed for Kennedy and Leahy to request ALL the documents on NSA spying.

The sooner people GET THIS the better.

3. Or Kristol wants the appearance of a Democratic vendetta against the
President, because Republicans anticipate this backfiring against the President the way the Clinton impeachment saga hurt Republicans in 1998. That's one theory I've heard. But the real scandal is that the President deliberately broke the law by turning America's most powerful intelligence agency on American citizens without a warrant -- and Congress doesn't seem to care much. I would favor impeachment or censure (censure is favored by those who fear the political backlash at an impeachment attempt).

6. Censure will bring no backlash.
Bush is not popular like Clinton was.

7. They asked Kristol about that also...
He said the Repubs would not all unite over this issue, with all the other problems going on, paraphrasing. Brit Hume tried to push that story. But, Kristol said this hurts Bush and the Repubs so long as there is no response to it.

4. I heard that !
That was almost as surprising as Senator Durbin's comments on the same show...

12. I thought you might ask ...
:)

He surprised the FOX crew when he said that we needed to investigate to see if laws were broken... Wallace then interrupted and asked him if he was calling for impeachment. Then Durbin abruptly corrected him and said that was not what he said. But he did seem to support Feingold and believed we needed an investigation to find further answers.

10. Well, at least Kriston understands that Feingold' s only increased his
popularity amongst the grassroots dems, which is more that I can say for the entrenced corporate-supporting, cowardly bush** supporting dems in the House and the Senate.

11. The Democratic strategy is deceivingly clever
This whole game plan started with that bicameral, closed-door meeting that happened just before Murtha came out 'on point' for strategic redeployment.

They send out ONE guy, who articulates a position, and takes ALL THE HEAT. The remainder of them either stay mum, offer qualified support, or use the "Devil's Advocate" stance to slowly, surely advance the position.

The GOP piles on, but the public starts screaming, because what these elected officials who are 'on point' are saying makes complete and total sense. The piling on appears hugely partisan, in addition to being bullying. No one likes a bully. Americans believe in debate, after all.

Feingold is the "Designated Senator," just as Murtha is the "Designated Representative." Both have the most important characteristic required to advance their theses--credibility. The second quality that they have, and it is a key one, is that both are unflappable. They won't be discombobulated by criticism, because their objections are succinct, clear, and unwavering, and they know how to keep their cool.

It's a slow process, that many would like to see go at a faster pace, but the finish line for this particular effort is November.

Slow and steady,
Wins the race.

13. Notice Bill Kristol only comes out into the light of day when:
He is speaks at the mediawhore's campaign analysis?

When he again sits at the mediawhores roundtable on calling the elections results.

When the Bush/Cheney duo is in deep doo-doo.

Just what does he professionally label himself?

Asslicker in chief?

Designated GOP whiner?

He is so past his prime...he looks like a foolish shell of his formerly puffed-up self.

19. The key to what is effective was in Frist's action on the day Feingold
made the accoucement. Frist immediately called for a vote (on acceptance of a Res?) which was turned down, then said they would vote the next day, which they didn't. They don't that word on the lips of anyone.

15. Yeah, those genius strategists in Washington DC! What pukes!
What we have here is the valiant individual efforts of great patriots such as John Conyers, John Murtha, and Russ Feingold. The Beltway leaders and strategists were upset that their cocktail parties were interrupted by the unexpected demands for investigations, hearings, censure, and impeachment.

17. The proof in the pudding
Is how discombobulated the Repressive Right is over a simple censure suggestion by a minority-party member in the Senate. Any criticism of Dear Leader must, must, must be attacked ruthlessly and without surcease.
