Are Democrats slowly coming to support Feingold's censure proposal?
Dick Durbin sounded very much in suppport of it this morning on FOX News. Chris Wallace seemed taken aback by his pronouncement. Senator Durbin said we need an investigation to find out if the laws were broken. From my amateur perspective, he seemed to be supportive of putting more heat on Bush and the Repubs and getting to the bottom of this.

"What part of Amendment IV to the Constitution of the United States of America do you not understand."

AMENDMENT IV, SEARCH AND SEIZURE: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

This article was backed by the law establishing the FISA Court. Bushco has trashed the Constitution and laws of Congress here and lied about it, with his domestic spying agenda. This one is really clear-cut. As John Dean and Constitutional Professor Johnathan Turley has said, Bush has already confessed publicly to deliberately breaking this law. This one's a biggie. If the emerging Bush dictatorship is to be halted, he cannot be allowed to use the "9-11 changed everything" argument for his dictatorship. We will permanently have terrorism to guard against. Does that mean permanent suspension of the Constitution?

7. So slap his wrist with censure and MOVE ON?
Because that's the bottom line now that Feingold has backed away from his original offering wheras impeachment case would continue. Now he's selling censure to the press by saying his approach is the moderate ALTERNATIVE to impeachment which would be bad for the country at a time of war.

Feingold's case for censure was strong enough - he didn't need to point to impeachment as the "bad for the country" bogeyman in order to sell censure.

2. Maybe.. It could be a good strategy
Just keep the censure support trickling in and building until the mid-terms. The details of the censure are devastating to Bush and the Republicans, what better way to keep these details in the news week after week? With today's BS media there's a huge benefit not blowing their entire wad in one shot.

3. Several things about the Censure thing I don't understand
One: There is a Republican Senate. There are 55 repuke senators, so if all Dems signed on to the idea of censure, what are the chances of an actual censure leaving the US Senate?

Two: What would a censure mean? It doesn't have any more standing than a Motion of the Senate. No penalties. Whose mind is going to be changed by passing a censure? Dems have nothing for chimpie and aren't going to change. Repukes love chimpie, and if three years of a worthless war hasn't changed their minds, what will? Repukes are alot like taking a horse to a water troff, and trying to make it drink. A large portion of them are incapable of finding fault in their 'leader.'

Three: Isn't this sort of like a 'she said, he said.' Chimpie says he is exercising his Constitution powers as commander-in-chief. Most Dems and many legal scholars say he is violating the fourth amendment. Neither side can claim authority from a Congressional Committee or by a federal court.

This thing seems to be winding down. I've said it before and I'll repeat what I said: its much ado about nothing.

My feeling about chimpie is that he is a war criminal. He caused the US military to invade a sovereign nation without real cause. For that he should be punished, but since the US is the biggest bully on the block, I don't think he will, provided he doesn't leave the US after he leaves office. When he leaves office, I don't think he will be traveling to Western Europe. I would bet there are thousands, maybe millions, that would love to take his ass to the Hague, and have him explain his actions.

4. I support Russ wholeheartedly...
Here is my short email to Donna Brazille. I emailed her because the dimwits in the House, Senate, and DNC are not listening to us! Yes, I'm grabbing at straws but what Russ Feingold is doing and saying and what John Murtha is doing and saying needs to be heard and run with like a football! Here it is:

Dear Ms. Brazile,

Would it be possible for you to line up all the democrats in the House and Senate and yell at them through a bullhorn to stand behind Russ Feingold, John Murtha and other democrats with brains and patriotism in their hearts? Is that possible? If you need us to raise money to buy you a freaking bullhorn to do this we will do that for you!!!!! Democrats and liberals have had it with the democratic party, and those of us who give money to the DNC........have stopped giving until we see some action on the part of the people we are sending the money to!

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Kay

6. All it took was enough PUBLIC OUTRAGE
that looked like it was going to threaten their own precious hides in the next election.

I am so sick of these old boys who want to stay in office to fatten their pensions and increase their portfolios. Get 'em out!
