I'm Chokin' Here, But............
I thought, and thought, and thought about whether or not *Co has done anything in his 5 years that I approved of, and I DID come up with one thing, (although it pains me deeply to admit it).

I will be forever grateful that *Co got rid of the telemarketing calls that plagued my home, day and night. (As you can see, it doesn't take a whole lot to please me!) I realize it put a lot of people out of business or lost others their jobs, but it was becoming a major irritation.

Can anyone else come up with a positive or two, or is that all there is? I know the list won't be long, but it will be interesting, just the same.

1. Why would you want to come w/any positives about that fucker?
There are no positives.

BTW, I still get calls from telemarketers despite signing up on that Don't Call list.

I also remember the dimwit promising to do something about junk email and we all see how far he got with that.

4. Because, everyone does something right,
sometime in their life, even if it's accidental.

Does it help if I say it took me a year to come up with a positive? :D

The only telemarketing-type calls I get now are from politicians or charities, which I believe were not covered under the law.

2. I believe that this issue started up at the FCC during Clinton's era
and the studies of feasibility, penalties, and how to maintain lists came to fruition during the house of Bush.
I won't give him that much credit. And besides, the decisions were made BEFORE he installed his sycophant neocon young republican hitler youth into their leadership at the FCC.

3. He serves as a horrifying example
For what happens when corporate interests hijack democracy.

Apparently a lesson we had to learn . . .

5. The whole effort could have been conceived to capture everyones
names and phone numbers so they could use them to spy on America.

6. I think Clinton mentioned this as one of Bush's accomplishments
at the opening of the Clinton Library--great example of damning with faint praise.

7. You have named the ONLY thing they've done right, as far as I am
concerned. Other than that, they can rot in hell. :)

9. Ummm,er,ummmmm (raking my brain)

I was woindering the same thing a few weeks ago. I tried in good faith to come up with something he's done that I either agree with or appreciate.

Couldn't come up with a damn thing.

The few things that I agreed with -- Like his calls to fight sex-slave traffiking -- were nothing more than empty phrases, with no follow through.

10. I do like the idea of figuring out all the lame nice things you can say
about Bush like he is an inspiration to all substance-abusing, intellectual challenged, incontinent trust fund babies everywhere.

11. Huh?
We're on that no call list and get harassed constantly. I love my caller ID. It protects me a heck of a lot more than anything the fascists have pretended to do. :eyes:

12. Bush had nothing to do with that, btw, and fought it, as I recall.
he just signed it.
It WAS a bipartisan effort of congress, though. But giving Bush credit for that is lame.

13. Well, that puts him back to zero....
You said, "giving Bush credit for that is lame."

I'll put my thinking cap back on, but it sure will be "hard work" to come up with another good deed. (tongue in cheek)

14. sorry, I phrased that badly. I meant him taking credit for it is lame
I didn't mean to make it sound like you were lame, sorry about that.

15. Don't sweat the small stuff! :D
It's just refreshing to see that I'm not the only one who struggled to come up with a positive (I thought). It's hopeless, I say.

That saint manning the Pearly Gates has his job cut out for him, some day.
