1. Imagine. Saying it like it is.
Sure doesn't look like a child of the 60's, eh? ~~gigglesnort~~

This'll be moved, and I "don't go over there", so I'm really glad to see this... while it lasted.

Thanks for the notice, and the link!

27. the permanent link after it moves off FP
FP is slang for "front page" on their site not that other horror.

Here's the permanent link:

http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2003/12/23/171559/76

You should be able to find it there for quite some months if not years.

Unfortunately the site is getting over-run by trolls but ever so often a story appears that is genuinely of interest and this interview is one of them.

8. sad but true... DK even told us during the last ABC "mass-debate"
that he says the things the media does NOT want to be broadcast, and thus they occupy him with trivial high-school popularity-contest type questions, ANYTHING but what really needs to be said and heard

ABC thanked DK for this insight by removing their reporter from the DK campaign

it's doubly sad to live in a world like this knowig that 1) DK is undoubtedly the BEST candidate out there running, and 100% of what the country needs right now, and 2) that most dumbass Americans would never accept him because the 'powers that be' are too threatened

he'd be Wellstoned in no time, and might not even need something sneaky. You can be assured that ANY Dem that gets into the White House in 05 will be attacked and hammered and vilified in the media so much it will make Clinton's experiences seem like summer camp. The media will be openly calling for his assassination, like Chavez had to deal with...

we live in dark dark times, but these present times will be remembered as the evening twilight, because the darkness is only just starting...

and with that, I wish you happy holidays!! :evilfrown:

19. Now *that* would be an interesting poll
I seem to recall a recent poll about the election theft, over 40% of those polled thought the election was stolen. But I'd have to do a little searching for the link.

As for Kucinich's platform, I'd bet money that most Dems don't even know what it is. He probably polls low because his name is hard to spell and looks "furrin".

21. Right you are CA!!
1/3 of the electorate think Bush stole the Presidency with the help of the Parisian Supreme Court(these voters are all/most ABB). 1/3 believe that Bush won a squeaker fair and square and Gore tried to steal it by cherry picking Dem counties and the Parisian FL Supreme Court (these people will all/most vote for Bush).

The remaining 1/3 have varying feelings about what happened in 2000, but for the most part accept Bush as Prez and don't want to hear about it anymore. This talk to them sounds like sour grapes and turns them off. They want to move ahead, not relive the past.

We can beat Bush on issues. This talk might excite the base, but in the long run hurts more then helps.

Character Assassin is the voice of the hard reality we need to accept.

I fear that many will fail to heed your words. Bush is a man of 1,000 failures and failings.

Surely it won't be hard for my Democratic friends to concentrate on, oh, say, 10% of those and handily beat the dunce.

41. And if the Dems hadn't lain down and played dead
after the Selection (as in refusing to support the Black Caucus' walk-out to protest the denial of voting rights to African-Americans), more Americans would still be incensed.

Remember, the inauguration of Bush* attracted more protesters than any inauguration within living memory. There was a reservoir of anger and frustration out there, and the mainstream Dems turned down the chance to marshall it.

Easy. His platform is not to my liking and he is way too far in left field. Us humble and moderate Democrats don't want the unreachable utopia he has promised to pursue. I'm sure he is a nice enough guy but it takes more than that to float this sunken ship.

26. When it comes to left field,
or "way too far" anywhere, I agree with Dennis:

http://www.kuro5hin.org/

<snip>

Your platform reads like Progressive pillow talk - universal healthcare, full employment, fully funded public education through college - but is America ready for that radical of a shift to the left?

What is radical about healthcare for all? What is radical about education for all? What is radical about jobs for all? When that starts to be radical, we have to ask ourselves, what in the heck has happened to this country? All of a sudden somebody starts talking about peace and prosperity and is seen as a radical? My God, where are we going as a nation? What does that say? All of a sudden "mainstream" is supporting monopolies? Mainstream is supporting war? Mainstream is supporting a healthcare system that is stopping people from being able to get care? It's like America has gone upside down, and so, you know, I am here to help put it right side up.

Do I take your subject to mean anyone who comes out and says the 2000 election was stolen is suddenly Presidential material?

Sorry. I'd like to support Dennis...but he just can't win.

I hate to say...he's too far left. Not that I dislike far-left candidates...far from...I am pretty far-left myself. But the reality is...the demographics of this nation, currently, will not support the election of one as far-left as Dennis...and right now...we need to BEAT BUSH...nothing else matters. Maybe in '08 I could support Dennis...but not now. Right now, I need to support whoever has the best chance of beating Bush.

Sorry if y'all Kucinich supporters don't like the reality, but, sad to say, this IS the reality right now.

43. Waking up to Dennis
This is the best article I've read yet. It truly illustrates why we support Dennis Kucinich. Because he has the vision for where we want to go, and the backbone to put us on that road. America is waking up to Dennis; to what he has done, and what he can do for us. Whatever the outcome of the primaries, Dennis has done the democratic party a world of good. And, being Dennis, he will continue to do so in whatever capacity he can.

Like Dennis, I hold out hope. Hope for his campaign, and hope for our country. I'm working to make that hope a reality.

IMO, Dennis Kucinich is the true Democratic candidate. Unfortunately, the majority of this country are not evolved enough to elect someone like him. Maybe someday, if we still have a country by then.

This is perhaps our last chance to salvage what's left, which means supporting a less than perfect candidate because bush has got to go.

Reality needs to trump idealism this time around. It probably won't matter anyway since the elections will be fraudulent again. There'll not even be the hopes of a "recount" with no paper trail on those electronic voting machines. Fait Accompli
