Which Progressive Patriot should I vote for?
No one I know is in the running this time. The top voter recieves a $5K campaign contribution from Russ Feingold's Progressive Patriots Fund.

http://www.progressivepatriotsfund.com/page/s/vote

Senator Russ Feingold's Progressive Patriots Fund wants your help identifying a Congressional challenger to support in this year's elections. The candidate chosen by the grassroots as a Progressive Patriot will receive a $5000 contribution from the Progressive Patriots Fund. These candidates were selected by you through the candidate suggestion form, and we hope to do more of these events in the future.

Kirsten Gillibrand (NY-20)
Tessa Hafen (NV-03)
John Laesch (IL-14)
Monica Lindeen (MT-AL)
Dave Loebsack (IA-02)
Eric Massa (NY-29)
Barry Welsh (IN-06)
Bill Winter (CO-06

1. Kirsten Gillibrand please!
The 20th is currently in the hands of John E. Sweeney, a right bastard- old "kick ass" led the charge to get the recount shut down in Florida in 2000. He needs to get HIS ass kicked!

5. kirsten has a good shot at this race
and she is one sharp cookie. I have met her on several occasions and I think she is a good fit for the 20th. I was there when she made her announcement in Saratoga- and Sweeney goons picketed. I had to laugh- clearly they are afraid of this petite lady from Hudson, never heard of someone being picketed at the first instant.

2. If they're all progressives, then why not send some to all of them or
prorate the amount depending on who faces the biggest challenge?

but I lived far away from them. Then the fundie political movement became strong in Ohio and snapped most of the ties over the last 5 yrs.

I love having hundreds of cousins!

Polish and German Catholic farmers. I guess nobody told them if they stopped at 3 or 4 they wouldn't have to work so hard and keep having more kids to work the farm and feed themselves.

22. No, not officially. But 10K seems larger than the others in US
from what I have read.

I'm a freelance science and health writer so I can live anywhere. I might try to get another job at a university when my daughter (14) is college age. I know that's really bad planning. But we're doing ok now and I need the flexibility.

They are going to take so many hits from the R-W. It is just such a damn shame that our elections revolve around money.

29. Eric Massa - one of the Band of Brothers, and my first contrib of the yr
I wrote my first 06 check to Eric Massa. I had met him at an event in DC about 6 months ago.

Much to my surprise, about a week later I got an actual handwritten letter from him thanking me for my contribution.

Since then I've gotten one more letter from him. He is a nice man, and a great candidate. Retired Navy Cmdr. Annapolis grad (I think).

32. The March 30 event looks like a hot ticket.
Please Join Honorary Host Congressman Jim McGovern, Honorary Guest Senator Max Cleland, and our Host Committee for an event supporting Eric Massa.

I love McGovern and Cleland. Reflects well on Massa that these two patriots are supporting him.

37. He is a great guy.
I've gotten phone calls from him thanking me for supporting him and asking if there was anything he could do for me or anything I was concerned about when he's felt he's gotten behind in his handwritten letter writing.

All of our representatives in government should be so willing to talk to and hear from us.
