A friend fundraises for the DNC and spoke to someone that referred to themselves as a " Lincoln Republican" ??? what does that mean?

it's basically a democrat. Lincoln was a republican, which at that time was the party of anti-slavery. the dem's were what came to be known later as dixi-crats. the parties have pretty much flipped since lincoln's time.
