"TCNs" or third-country nationals employed at Gitmo |
|
Does anyone know more about the "TCNS" employed by the contractors at Gitmo who earn $25 a day doing manual labor at the marina, cooking etc. Is any press reporting about these people? Is KB&R employing them in places like Iraq and Afghanistan? A type of slave labor isn't it? Supposedly if they work so many years they get U.S. citizenship.
Thanks for any info you can add.

they were Cuban and Jamaican nationals. At the time, I think the Navy paid them. I don't know what the current arrangement is.

2. So you were stationed there prior to 9/11? |
|
and the Navy employed TCNS then also? I wonder if Erik Saar talks about them in his book Behind the Wire?

3. I was there in the 70s. |

Every Naval base employs civilians, and overseas, they employ locals as well as U.S. civil servants. GTMO is not unusual in this regard.

5. Is the government the largest employer of illegal aliens? |
|
when does an illegal alien become one...on American soil or American military bases? Someone should ask that question.
