The next President will be Herbert Hoover...
History is repeating itself. We had the Roaring Twenties and then we had the Roaring 90's. Then we got a Republican president with the same ideas about taxes and revenues they had in the 1920's. Back then, they cut taxes on the very wealthy also. They said the same thing the supply siders are saying now. Then the market crashed. We remember from our history books what happened next.

Herbert Hoover assured all the people that things "would get better next year". Harry Hopkins reminded him that people didn't eat next year - they eat every day. I see the same parallels right now. And we don't have the safety nets that we once had. We could see some very severe times ahead. If the housing market collapses...or some other unforeseen crash happens, we could experience something very similar to those times, in my opinion. The people along the Gulf Coast are experiencing it already.

8. Agreed.
I don't think Herbert Hoover gave a sh*t about the American people, & neither does Bush*. I believe we're already in the 2nd Great Depression w/a do-nothing (to help) president, which is why I call him GW Hoover.

9. In my darkest hours...
I suspect you are correct. :-(

I read an article today by somebody who wrote a book (actually it was Chalmers Johnson "Sorrows of Empire) who said that the next President will be similar to when the Roman Military did a coup and put in Julius Caesar..and we all know what happened to him...in the night of the long knives. Johnson thinks either it will be an Economic Melt Down or the Military will rise up and take him out...

Let's hope if it's a miltary coup...we do better than what happened to Julius....:-( I'm not sure if the Economic Meltdown is better than that or worse.

Whatever it is...we better wake up as a united country against Bush/NeoCon/Think Tank/Corporatists/Supply Siders/Globalists...before all is lost...

10. mixing Hoover with the Bushes is BIG trouble
Long ago, in a galaxy far away, a man carried a Hoover into a Bush...
Somehow dust from the vacuum polinated the bush...

and the bush family tree sprung out of the very spot where oil leaked from the machine...

THE BUSH FAMILY TREE
