2. Mr.bush broke the law.
There was a legal way to spy, he chose to not do that, to ignore this way and go around the law. No person is above the law.

3. Either the law needs to change, or the president needs to be
censured. If the president broke the law instead of working to change it while he was breaking it, he should be censured. The law should allow for the most effective use of resources for America to fight terrorism. Instead of working toward changing the law, w broke the law, and covered it up.
The war on terror will go on long after w has left the white house. w needs to set a precedent in fighting the war on terror. every senator must do so as well.

4. Bush not only broke the FISA law, I believe he admitted it
He deserves, at the very minimum, censure. Censure is also the Senate's way of reminding Bush that it is a co-equal branch of government.

5. A Senator should support censure
because I want to know that the people that are representing me believe in upholding the laws of the land and that no one is above the law. If they don't have these basic beliefs they aren't truly representing me.

6. Because the time to call out Bush for his flagrant violations
of the law is NOW, not next year or the year after, right now. The man has participated in a coup d'etat. The least we can do is censure him for lawless behavior.

8. Because...
Bush broke this law by authorizing the NSA to do searches without going through the FISA court.

The GOP refused to hold him accountable.

Congress and the president are bound to uphold this. Voting to censure the president is important to restoring a small semblance of respect for law in the institutions that made this a great country.
