Jon Stewart just now on Cheney's Hotel requirement that TVs be pre-tuned to Fox News.

2. I bet those hotels are just dying to put a gift in the suite. Oh brother.

Like Cheney isn't rich enough. He needs "gifts." How about a friend's bird-shot head on a platter? How about making that pot of decaf two or three days ahead of arrival? Screw'em. Put a cobra between the sheets.

6. Look
I travel occasionally on business and I can understand these demands. The most important thing to me is to have a coffee maker in the room. I refuse to pay the high prices of room service coffee. One of the nicer hotels I've been to was The Penisula in Chicago. No coffee maker. Really pissed me off. Thankfully, they stocked the coffee in front of our conference room. I put on my jeans, t-shirt, and a baseball cap(bed head) and went back to my room. Time for a cig, coffee, and a shower. Damn, I hate not having a coffee maker in my room.

9. And do the TV in your rooms have to be tuned to a specific channel?
In most hotels these days, no matter what you've last watched, when you turn on the TV again it will be at the hotel's own "menu."

What was really funny, were Stewart comments. He cannot tune to CNN or MSNBC and learn how shitty he is in his job.

10. No demands by me
the hotels tend to favor CNN.

11. I wouldn't put your business travel demands in the same category.
Edited on Fri Mar-24-06 09:34 AM by Ilsa
I also expect a coffee pot in my room and a working tv, etc.

I'm just amazed (and amused) by the demand for the freshly made coffee when schedules are generally kept a little vague for security reasons, and some of the other requests, including the gift basket BS.

It isn't so much the demands as how they are presented, like someone has to be ready to wait on him when surely he has his own advance staff there to turn the tv on for him to whatever channel he wants.

Good luck with your business travels. I know it can get old after awhile, as my husband complains.

7. Don't *most* modern hotels have a private bathroom?
They really don't expect the king to wander down the hall for a shave and whatever do they?

Microwave removed

My father had exactly the same implanted defib/pacemaker Cheney has and people that have those can't go anywhere near a microwave

13. I'd like to leave a gift in his room...
A nice, big, flaming turd, in the middle of the bed. BTW, why does he need all the lights on before he gets there? Is he expecting the boogieman to jump out at him or something?

temperature but turning on all of the lights is just a waste of energy.
Turn one lamp on in the corner so he doesn't trip and that should be good enough. And most hotel tvs have hotel info on them when they are turned on so having the tvs tuned to Fox News means they would have to be turned on ahead of time as well. I would be inclined to tell them, No thanks - go somewhere else or take what we give to everyone else.
