DCCC recruitment of candidates
I recently found out that the DCCC recruited a candidate that will have an amazing shot at beating JD Hayworth (Harry Mitchell) if he wins the primary or if Larry King drops out. Larry ran in 2002 and did not make it out of the primary but he had a wide open field this time but it is unknown how well he would do against Hayworth.

Both of them are nice guys who have been involved for years in Democratic Party politics.

Considering the rancor that the Cegalis/Duckworth campaign generated...do you think that recruitment of candidates when someone is in the district already running is always a bad thing?

I do think it was partly because of my race that they did this but that is another tale.

1. Who Is This Candidate, Ma'am?
Do you think Mr. King can beat Hayworth? It would certainly be nice if someone did....

3. What Do You Know Of Him, Ma'am?
Why do they think he has such a good chance?

4. Harry was the beloved mayor of Tempe for 16 years.
He has been an institution in this town for decades. Both sides like him and I know that a lot of Republicans will have a tough time getting anything bad on him. And he also is a good campaigner.

5. Then It Sounds To Me, Ma'am
As if the national Party committee should enter him, and back him to the hilt, if he is willing.

8. I don't think
Their is anything wrong with the DCCC or DSCC recruting candidates they feel are most likely to win, Its their job after all. What I do have a problem with is when they try to nudge candidates out like a certain race that I don't think needs to be mentioned. In IL-06, the big guns may have recruited Duckworth but at the end of the day the residents of IL-06 decided who they wanted to be their Democratic nominee.
