Where is the one Republican that will stand up for our Constitution and the rule of law? Why do they all cower in the background when they know what is happening? Why cannot just one Republican show a little courage? Your country needs you. Is your present Party more important to you than the rule of law and the Constitution? Back when Hagel first ran there for the U.S. Senate in 1996, his company's computer-controlled voting machines showed he'd won stunning upsets in both the primaries and the general election. The Washington Post (1/13/1997) said Hagel's "Senate victory against an incumbent Democratic governor was the major Republican upset in the November election." According to Bev Harris of www.blackboxvoting.org, Hagel won virtually every demographic group, including many largely Black communities that had never before voted Republican. Hagel was the first Republican in 24 years to win a Senate seat in Nebraska.

Six years later Hagel ran again, this time against Democrat Charlie Matulka in 2002, and won in a landslide. As his hagel.senate.gov website says, Hagel "was re-elected to his second term in the United States Senate on November 5, 2002 with 83% of the vote. That represents the biggest political victory in the history of Nebraska."

What Hagel's website fails to disclose is that about 80 percent of those votes were counted by computer-controlled voting machines put in place by the company affiliated with Hagel. Built by that company. Programmed by that company.

8. Oh wow a Republican won in Nebraska, what a shock!

Hagel was running against Nelson who was a loser then and is a loser now. Nebraska hadn't elected a Republican to the US Senate in 24 years because things were not nearly as partisan in the 1970's and 1980's. Bob Kerrey and Jim Exxon were popular incumbent senators who were able to survive the partisan shift until they retired.

And why would Hagel's voting machines only vote for Hagel? Why didn't he use them to defeat Nelson in 2000 as well?

Ike would not Like this at all. Integrity is totally foreign to these people apparently, which really disappoints me. I thought better of Susan Collins, Snowe, Chaffee and a few of the other moderates. I even had respect for the INTEGRITY of some of the hard right people that screwed Clinton to the wall. But now we see that they wouldn't ever dream of calling it the same on both ends of the court. They are all frauds.

She is a "moderate" for one reason and one reason only: because she represents Maine. We have the highest tax burden in the country, no jobs to speak of, a rapidly aging population and poverty everywhere you look. If Snowe and Collins didn't occasionally stand up for their constituents they'd be out of a job. But on core issues like abortion rights, SCOTUS nominees, support for the poor and disenfranchised etc. etc., these women never deviate from the repuke agenda. I wish there were a way to mobilize the voters here and get them OUT.
