Since the Repubs took control of both the House, and the Senate?
Seems like forever.

4. The House was lost in 1994 with the "Gingrich Revolution". |
|
The Senate flipped-flopped back-and-forth; IIRC, the Democrats lost it in 2000 (again?) when it went 50/50 with Cheney able to cast the deciding vote but recaptured it briefly when Jim Jeffords switched from Republican to Independent.

3. We lost both the House and Senate 1994. |
|
(Or January 1995 if you prefer.) The 2000 election split the Senate 50-50, with the Republican's still claiming the majority because of Big Dick's Constitutional position as President of the Senate. Jim Jefford's switch from Republican to Independent in the Spring of 2001 shifted the balance to 50-49-1. The Republicans took the Senate again in 2002.
