Anyone know where to find out how many cops have been taken
off the streets since Bush has been in office?

I know that the 100,000 that Clinton promised has been reduced.

1. Bush eliminated the funding.
The Clinton Cops program did much more than hire new officers, it also allowed for upgrade of communications technology, which from personal experience is sorely needed. We use a friggen mainframe for our CAD system which was old in 1991. The Clinton Cops program never really made it to 100,000 and one of the by products of its de-funding is that smaller communities can only afford part-time officers much to the chagrin of many police unions.
