New DCCC Ad:
Exposing the Extremists

Stem cell research is not a partisan issue. In fact, only the most extremist Republicans in the national Republican Party have chosen to oppose this research instead of siding with the families who support it. These ads call attention to seven such extremists, showing that they are rubber stamps for the Bush administration and out of touch with the families they represent.

The seven Republicans are: Congressman Mike Ferguson (R-NJ), Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (R-PA), congressional candidate John Gard (R-WI), congressional candidate Rick O'Donnell (R-CO), Congressman Richard Pombo (R-CA), Congressman Dave Reichert (R-WA) and congressional candidate Peter Roskam (R-IL). Americans want to tear down the needless roadblocks to the development of lifesaving medical treatment but these extremist Republicans look to put up walls to impede these important advances.

"On one side of the divide is life saving medical research, on the other side is special interest politics. On one the one hand you the potential for American to move forward, on the other side are forces holding America back," said Congressman Rahm Emanuel, Chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. "As Nancy Reagan said, 'I just don't see how we can turn our backs on this... We have lost so much time already. I just really can't bear to lose any more.'"
