Poll question: Time to stand up and be counted!

Many of us actively protested Bush's invasion of Iraq long before it happened. I for one was out on the streets here in San Diego beginning in the late summer and early fall of 2002, over 6 months prior to the invasion.

Many of us opposed the invasion but did not, for a variety of personal reasons, participate in anti-war demonstrations prior to the invasion.

It took many of us longer to appreciate what was happening... e.g., many believed Saddam actually had chemical and biological weapons and the means to deliver them here and intended to do so, but began waking up during the 6 months after the invasion when no such weapons showed up.

Many may have supported the war until Bush acknowledged Saddam had no WMDs and began changing, over and over again his public excuses for the invasion.

I doubt any genuine DU'ers have always supported Bush's actions and words regarding Iraq.

In fact, I marched against Bush in 2001....when there were only 200 of us! I just didn't like the way 2000 went down, and I knew this guy was going to be nothing by trouble for all of us, and for our democracy!

In Michael Moore's Farenheit 9-11, one guy on the inaugural parade route in January, 2001 had it right: he held up a sign saying: "God help us."

10. I admit I was too carefree at the time.

I was goofing off & having fun in my spare time, before the Iraq war started. I was not incensed enough to do anything about it, I just changed the channel, making it "go away" for the moment.
This administration has gradually made me bitter and jaded, like a cornered animal.

I waited and waited. They'd come up with various crapola stories that were debunked on the internets. Then suddenly they started in on the mushroom clouds and the congress was scared to be found soft on terra, or limp. That was as close to making a case for war as bush ever got.

law degrees never wondered about the complete lack of any solid evidence to support the Bush regime's various wild claims about Iraq. I've never understood how a single Rep or Senator could vote for the IWR *without* such evidence.

And I'd still like to know what so-called "intelligence" was fed to these representatives of the people by the cabal behind closed doors. Did every critically thinking brain cell in Washington simply shut down during October, 2002???

once we found out there was no WMDs and Bush being on his third excuse. It was his second excuse, actually, that got me. When he went from WMDs to "war of liberation" I turned.

But I didn't go full out "get him outta there" campaign 2004 mode until I read an article on the net about Gitmo, long before it became public knowledge. That fully and truly de-sheepled me but good.

one goes through over time shedding the MSM propaganda and searching the net for the true fracts.

It doesn't matter how you get there or how long it takes, so long as you get there.
