Who was Dem_Strategist? Did this person ever reveal him/herself?
"Dem_Strategist" was a Democratic Strategist who posted on DU and promised to reveal him/herself after the election. This person was vouched for by other DU-ers and I don't recall an "outing." Anyone know the actual name of this individual?

Just wondering.

I thought it was a chick from Boston who appeared on MSNBC from time to time? On edit I see the person is from Washington? Curiouser and curiouser.

I was under the impression that said person was going to reveal him/herself here and I thought I must has missed the revelation?

I was suspicious of the person and he vouched for him/her in a PM.

After the Kerry campaign, we obviously need a better strategy.

4. Depends on who this strategist
is working for. Feingold, for instance, seems to have a real strategist.

7. OK looking at the post,
I remember some of it vaguely. Strategists not willing to confront the lies of the opposition lose, pure and simple. Failure to address them means they control the game and message.

26. Or a bit more than waiting for some judiciary Dem to lead Alito filibuster
after the hearings?

After all, Alito rulings will be around for decades and effect almost every aspect of our lives eventually.

14. Cool.
After the few weeks of dealing with the depression engendered by election Fraud day, 2004, I had shut down to a lot of the curious whackery and pulled the curtains.
Now, reading the linx, I got to relive a bit of the "Donna Brazille, M B CaHill roll over and play possum and maybe they'll quit beating you" dem strategizing that accompanied Farce-2004.

I am, indeed, gratified to see the change that has drifted over DU in the past year--a change that, hopefully, is spelling the end of the pacifist appeasement politics that seemed to paralyze the ostensible heads of our team efforts.

In spite of the mist that envelopes the powers that aren't, such a demand for truth, integrity and clarity has had some enormously invigorating results. Although so many talking hairdos and typing fingers are clacking away at the causes of drooping GOP numbers and more penetrating media questioning, my own compass tells me it is a more-or-less direct result of the uncompromising, unstrategizing ethical core of the un-republicans.

Thanks for the memories.

17. I remember that person

and thinking that he/she was a little condescending ("Some of you are playing checkers while Kerry is playing chess").

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=612933&mesg_id=612933

Given the slightly patronizing attitude, combined with the highly charged pre-election atmosphere in DU, I was not surprised that this did not end well.

It would still be interesting to know the name of the person. After all, he/she did promise to reveal his/her name immediately after the election.

22. Considering that Shrub won the election (Diebold aside),
I'm guessing the average American understands checkers more than chess.

That's the problem with some Dem candidates: they play chess with the message when checkers would have done to suit more people.

controlling most broadcast media, and has been for about a decade now. It didn't matter WHAT Kerry did, because media ignored every important issue or attack he made while emphasizing every attack made upon Kerry.

If the Dem party doesn't make an effort to expose the GOP control of broadcast media and the voting machines, it will happen again.

29. The media did a great job in showing Kerry wind surfing
How many times did they show that video?

How many times did the media say that Saddam had WMDs?

How many times has the media excused Bush's lies and law breaking?

They won't change in 2006 or in 2008!
