1. Thanks for this.
I'm going to bookmark it. I still expect this Abramoff scandal to have very serious and far reaching consequences.

6. What about Mrs. DeLay?
I notice that this doesn't mention that Tom DeLay's wife was employed (barely) by one of Abramoff's storefront charities. The one that got the majority of its money from a shady "contribution" of $1M from Russian "oil executives." This was also reported by NPR, and to me, is the smokiest gun, since it points to personal profits the Tom DeLay got from overseas shady money.

BTW - Mrs. Tom's job duties were to compile a list of the favorite charities of Congress members.

13. Was the organization called Family something?
There was a brownstone, and the charity occupied just a small segment of it? Does that sound like what you are talking about?

All the Abramoff bookmarks are on the old computer. Alas.

Welcome to DU. :hi:

7. Hey no fair they left out his ties to Gov. Bob Riley of Alabama...
He trained Scanlon and obtained the illicit funds from the Choctaw gambling partners.

10. Nice, but they left out Big Tony, Little Tony & Pudgy
I mean we have a gangland style murder of a guy who sold Abramoff and Kidan a casino boat fleet here and then accused them of ripping him off. I just doesn't get any better than that.

And they also forgot the lifeguard who ran one of Scanlon's fake think tanks. I love the lifeguard.

Court Grants Request to Question Abramoff in SunCruz Slaying Trial

Associated Press
Saturday, March 25, 2006; Page A20

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 24 -- A judge has approved subpoenas for ex-lobbyist Jack Abramoff and a former business partner to answer questions about the mob-style slaying of the owner of a gambling fleet they bought.

Abramoff and Adam Kidan have insisted, through their attorneys, that they know nothing about the slaying of Konstantinos "Gus" Boulis, who was ambushed in his car by a gunman in Fort Lauderdale a few months after the pair bought SunCruz Casinos from him.

An attorney for Anthony "Big Tony" Moscatiello, one of three men charged in the 2001 slaying, wants to question Abramoff and Kidan, according to court documents. Circuit Judge Michael Kaplan approved the request Thursday, but the subpoenas had not been issued as of Friday.

Abramoff and Kidan are not charged in the slaying. Their attorneys did not return telephone calls or e-mails seeking comment Friday.

------------

I think Abramoff and/or Kidan issued large checks to Moscatiello's daughter for catering. I don't think there was any food involved.
