should be posted at all American polling places since the electronic voting machines STILL favor their candidates.

After reading about the recent problems with E-Voting and Optical Scanners it's interesting that the "errors" are STILL not random. I won't share my thoughts about voting, or e-voting but I was so disgusted that these machines are STILL so unreliable that it occurred to me the Rethugs should just post a sign that reads, "Republicans welcome to vote, all others don't bother." I mean, basically, that's what they want...they want their votes counted (and doubled and tripled) but they don't want all the votes counted.

Just a thought.

Don't cast votes on unreliable machine

Let me see if I got this right:

My son's SAT scores are lower because of a machine's counting malfunction that will directly affect the college he goes to, scholarships he might have received, and future earnings ("SAT mistakes put educators on alert," Republic, Friday).

Now Arizona Secretary of State Jan Brewer is making me cast my vote on an electronic voting machine that Maryland, along with several other states, has thrown out because they can't be trusted and can be hacked to change votes (New York Times editorial, "Common Sense in Maryland," March 23).

My son's future hangs on test scores graded by a malfunctioning machine, and now my country's future does, too? No, that can't be right; it doesn't make any sense!

Yet our secretary of state insists on purchasing more than 2,200 Diebold DRE electronic voting machines that have been repeatedly proven to be defective. Perhaps Brewer should call the governor of Maryland and ask him why he favors throwing out Diebold DRE machines, or call the governor of New Mexico and ask him the same question.

Or better yet, call the governor of Florida. She knows him; she was his brother's campaign co-chairwoman for Arizona in 2004. Go ahead and call Jeb, and ask him why he is doing a statewide re-evaluation of Diebold machines. - Michael Shelby, Phoenix
