Abramoff's lawyers say he's broke

This is not a comedy.

"In his overly determined pursuit of helping people and charities, Mr. Abramoff spent virtually all of the funds he earned in his various business dealings. He has no real assets beyond their home and its contents. Determined to help others, and confident that he could always earn more money if needed, he ignored the guidance of his financial advisors and accountants who repeatedly warned him that he needed to put funds aside into personal savings. Now, Mr. Abramoff is broke....read on"

Helping people and charities, yes...we know who he helped. Five years...what a cakewalk.

4. Anyone that believes this has an extermely low IQ.
This guy is a criminal with a high IQ. He knew that his demise was coming. Does anyone believe that he didn't stash away millions in offshore accounts with untracable tracks?

12. Let's see how this will play out...
Christmas Eve, 2008...

Warden of Club Fed: "Where's Prisoner 123456789?"
Guard 1: "You mean Jack Abramhoff? I just saw him on the 'back nine.'"
Warden: "Tell him his presidential pardon just came through..."
Guard 2: "I'm taking him his martini...I can tell him then!"

Let's see...spend roughly two years in a federal dentention center and then have millions of dollars for the rest of your life? Hmmmm...:freak:

6. Easy to say when all your assets are hidden somewhere off-shore
unable to be touched or examined.

Guarantee he's not broke. Those attorneys of his aren't working for free...I'd guess his up front retainer fee was somewhere near $100,000. And he didn't qualify for a public defender.

Somehow, that violin they're trying to play isn't in tune to my ear.

10. Fe fi fo fum, I smell BULLSHIT
and if I'd been that judge, I'd have doubled his sentence on hearing that much of it.

That may be all he has within the US, but you can bet he's got numbered accounts wherever he could set them up.

13. I'm sure there'll be a nice trust fund set up for him when he gets out.

He has so many people who owe him markers in high and low places, he'll never want for anything.

He funneled tens of millions of dollars from corporations to the GOP. He changed US foreign policy to suit the interests of his foreign client states in the Middle East and South Asia.

He'll be taken care by his friends, here and abroad. The Mob knows how to take care of its own.
