Not long after she was elected, the Orange County Register (IIRC) published a letter from an elderly woman who described herself as a FORMER "life-long Republican."

Back when B-1 Bob Dornan held that Congressional seat, the woman visited his office about a problem. I don't remember her specific problem, but it was some sort of typical bread-and-butter issue that Congresspeople are supposed to help their constituents with.

The lady wrote that she never saw Dornan, but one of his office aides subjected her to a bitter, screeching anti-gay rant. She felt that he couldn't be bothered with her problem.

After Sanchez was elected, the woman went back to the office. Spoke to a Sanchez staffer who took notes and got the problem fixed within days.

Besides...I will always love Sanchez just for kicking Dornan's ass. TWICE!

voted for Rep. Sanchez. She had just enough of Doorknob's antics.
