Stop and think, am I the only who thinks this way?
When I hear Bush pushing the guest workers program for illegal immigrants, I feel there is an alterative motive behind it, to benefit him or in this case his family. I know the Bush family envisions themselves as a political dynasty and I am 100% positive that some of their kids will be running for political office in the future. I do not think anyone sees the terrible twins running for anything exempt maybe a toilet after partying too much; but I definitely see Jeb’s sons running someday, especially George P. Bush, and most likely running for president someday. Only problem for George P. is that he is half-Hispanic, and no matter what anyone says on here a good chunk of people (mostly republicans) would never vote for him because of this, and then democrats will not vote for him because of his family. Now this leaves him George P with a slim chance of ever becoming president like his namesakes his grandfather and uncle. So with that in mind, has anyone else thought the purpose of W to get as many illegal immigrants over the border is because the Bush family figures if they become legal citizens they will automatically vote for George P. because he’s Hispanic. If they don’t automatically support him he can always say “My uncle opened the door for you to have a better life in the USA” and they figure this will make them fall in line. This along with getting them over here to drive down wages and to increase corporate profits of course.

Anyone else agree with this assessment?

1. There are two reasons for the Bush position on this issue
Edited on Sun Apr-02-06 04:56 AM by Syrinx
1. Cheap labor for Corporate America.

2. Pandering to Hispanic voters.

EDIT: And I think it's mostly number one, as they have the voting thing largely handled.

2. And there's even a BIGGER one
PEMEX -- PEtroleo de MEXico.

Mexico has a whole lot of oil. Why fight for it if we can make a diplomatic coup and also get cheap labor out of the deal?

3. Based on experience, it is safe to assume W will screw us
one way or another.

4. I dunno......the twins......
They seem to be doing exactly what W did at their age, though now that there's an Internet (thanks, Gore ; ) it's a lot harder to bury or whitewash.

All they have to do is say they've found Jesus and make a lot of noise about being strongly anti-drug and they'd get elected to something, I'd bet. As sick as it makes me.

I think it is for political benefit AND financial--why, between their own corporations and the ones that own THEM, imagine the COST of no longer using slavelabor at slave wages! And on top of that, you're right--they can go to these people later for votes.

5. You're not the only one.
He wants to help his corporate friends hire cheap labor. Who do you think owns the farms now? That's right, mega-corporations.
