A closed poll from two days ago. Yes, it's an online poll, but I guarantee you that it's very representative of what people really think.

1. Absolutely is It a Greater Threat to American Jobs
Still, both issues must be addressed... hopefully by "real" adults.

3. I'm sure this will be used to state that only 24% of Merkans find
illegal immigration a threat to US jobs, which means 76% do not. The outsourcing part of the poll will be brushed under the rug.

8. Yep. Americans don't want to work in meat-packing plants, because
they're no longer union and pay poorly. But Americans also don't want to study math and science (so we're told) so high tech industries have to outsource engineering, or import foreign labor. Apparently, all Americans are good at any more is going to the shopping mall and using their credit cards.

Yeah, good to know.

6. That may very well be true but that doesn't mean we should
do nothing about either one. There are 15-25% of what used to be very well paid construction jobs that are now filled by illegals working for low wages under the table. Just because you or I are not construction workers doesn't mean it don't affect us. That worker is not paying into local, state, federal income taxes and SS. The employer is not paying his share of SS, unemployment and disability compensation payments. Now before you play the raciest card, the hiring of illegal workers should be stopped we need to come down on the employers hard. I hear talk by the Right wanting to build a fence and the Left wanting to just let all 5 billion people on earth move in, neither will work. They arrested some illegals here working on a Walmart project, of course Walmart said they were shocked and had no idea this was happening, it was the sub contractor that did it. From what I heard the fine for this was about $200, now since they were being paid $800 a month under the table for doing a job that pays $27 and hour plus benefits $200 is laughable. A lot of this can even be stopped at the local level, when these companies come in and want tax breaks for building a new store and have all sorts of demands the local officials have to demand they use local preferably Union labor on the project.

7. It's representative of what people
with computers think. While I'm sure everyone in the IT field has a computer, I'm not so sure that that is the case with the carpenters, masons, roofers, drywallers etc. that are losing formerly well paying jobs to imported labor.
Why should I be outraged at the off-shoring of jobs that can be done via the internet if those people losing those jobs are cheering on the replacement of me in my job?

9. Absolutely. It might even pay for Dems to push immigration ...
... as a solutiion to both problems. Allow increased, legal immigration, focusing on family relationships and brain/wealth drain. Balance them.

Right now we have corporations doing all of the balancing, and their position is clear. Outsource whenever possible. If the job has to be done in this country, bring in immigrants legally or otherwise. Both illegal immigration and outsourcing are just lawbreaking, lawtwisting, off-the-books accounting screw jobs. That's what you get when you have Republicans in office. Enron/Halliburtion-style everything. Literally everything.

Corporations will break and twist the law as long as the Republicans are in power.
