Nice teeth....losta me, me, me (I went to Iraq, I know what's going on, I said this and that, then and there....yada, yada, yada) and not a single word about election 2006...but losta references to election 2008!

Then Wes Clark comes on with those eyes filled with sincerity, speaking softly and in all earnesty about his concerns that this country is on the doorstep of the abyss....and when he spoke, as usual.....that's when I learned something about a lot of things.

And someone in another thread decided that Clark wasn't "Polished" enough. I say, fuck some polish (although he as polished as humanily required)...and give us the truth, and then give them some Hell!

I can remember so much of what Wes Clark had to say...and he said plenty...and I can't remember diddly about Biden said? The General's comparing why/how health care moving to single payer must be incremental or we risk a disaster much like Homeland Security made perfect sense. So we start by dropping the age on medicare and expanding Chips.

22. Did you check out what Wes said about Censure? Seems like he's
interested in another "measure" that goes beyond censure....cause far as he's concerned...it appears that he believes that what has been done in by this white house was VERY SERIOUS! Said something about Censure would only leave the President in a weaken state.....but that there are other avenues (impeachment takes the President OUT)!

I think that's part of why he wants to take back the house...CAUSE THAT IS WHERE IMPEACHMENT BEGINS.

19. Ironic....using "Bombastic" when asking about this General's temperament!
The General is a strategic fighter who doesn't have to wear his "toughness" on his sleeve in order to pander for a vote.

Wes Clark is a diplomat and a statesman....but always, always, always, he will be a soldier, first and foremost. After being in the Army for 34 years and rising to the top in each and every endeavor that he has participated in by doing what's right....Wes Clark will kick some thugPug ass when required...cause sometimes that's what it takes.

Listen to what he has to say about that here.....
http://www.dunckleystreet.com/clark/shitout.mp3

When he told that audience that this country was in danger from within....and you saw his eyes burning as he said it...he wasn't giving an indication that it wasn't something he couldn't handle....he was letting us know that it MUST be handled; our democracy here at home, I mean.

Did you watch it? The Republicans know what Wes Clark is capable of doing...which is why he get promoted very little by the Corporate media. They know that man doesn't suffer fools easily!

here's is the late Col. David Hackworth on his assessment of Wes Clark...

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=34738

after spending three hours interviewing the man for Maxim's November issue, I'm impressed. He is insightful, he has his act together, he understands what makes national security tick – and he thinks on his feet somewhere around Mach 3. No big surprise, since he graduated first in his class from West Point, which puts him in the supersmart set with Robert E. Lee, Douglas MacArthur and Maxwell Taylor.

Clark was so brilliant, he was whisked off to Oxford as a Rhodes scholar and didn't get his boots into the Vietnam mud until well after his 1966 West Point class came close to achieving the academy record for the most Purple Hearts in any one war. When he finally got there, he took over a 1st Infantry Division rifle company and was badly wounded.

Lt. Gen. James Hollingsworth, one of our Army's most distinguished war heroes, says: "Clark took a burst of AK fire, but didn't stop fighting. He stayed on the field 'til his mission was accomplished and his boys were safe. He was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart. And he earned 'em."

snip
I asked Clark why he didn't turn in his bloody soldier suit for Armani and the big civvy dough that was definitely his for the asking.

His response: "I wanted to serve my country."

He says he now wants to lead America out of the darkness, shorten what promises to be the longest and nastiest war in our history and restore our eroding prestige around the world.

For sure, he'll be strong on defense. But with his high moral standards and because he knows where and how the game's played, there will probably be zero tolerance for either Pentagon porking or two-bit shenanigans.

No doubt he's made his share of enemies. He doesn't suffer fools easily and wouldn't have allowed the dilettantes who convinced Dubya to do Iraq to even cut the White House lawn. So he should prepare for a fair amount of dart-throwing from detractors he's ripped into during the past three decades.

Hey, I am one of those: I took a swing at Clark during the Kosovo campaign when I thought he screwed up the operation, and I called him a "Perfumed Prince." Only years later did I discover from his book and other research that I was wrong – the blame should have been worn by British timidity and William Cohen, U.S. SecDef at the time.

20. Clark is Great Man, but comparision of "Presence" will give Kerry Edge
Edited on Sun Apr-02-06 07:46 PM by Sensitivity
Democrats are really just eating their own when they don't acknowledge the strength
and sincerity John Kerry can convey in a speach. That is the only reason Kerry was able
to break through the sea of slime that the Repubs had been washing on top of him and his
feable campaign team in the months leading up to the debates. The public saw Kerry's strength
despite the MSN spin. That is why Kerry won the vote and the Pukes had to cheat (in Ohio, at least,
and likely across the board vio Diebold).

It is a real shame the the D.C. managers seem to be deliberately keeping Kerry out of effective
Party leadership.

31. Two things ...
1) First, I am starting to warm on Biden a bit ... I liked what I saw today ... ALTHOUGH, he was a bit too "Clintonesque" with the females at the end ...

2) God love Wes ... The question about censure ... I don't know if people got it or not, but he said, without saying it, that he didn't think Censure was enough ... He is SO darn good ... It won't get any negative play, cause the freepers can't get more than short buzz lines, but he was able to say he thought Bushco should be impeached without saying it ...

3) He and Biden are so different, and this is not a knock on Biden ... Biden is a good guy, looking out for the average joe and all ... But is a "slick" politician ... Wes is so NOT a politician, and just oozes genuine concern ...

32. Yep...I picked up on the Censure vs. Impeachment.....
and I think that it is one of the reasons that Clark wants us to win the House back as badly as he does...but doesn't want to use "impeachment" knowing that such a call would fire up the GOP base just in time for election 2006. Better to have the Republicans unhappy and wanting to stay home instead of voting. Once we have the House back....we can get moving on making sure that we pursue and properly punish those who have "broken" our laws. He seems very idignant that Bush has gotten away with so much.....that flies against what our founders intended.

Wes is actually right too...censure will only leave us looking weak by the world...having a president spanked on the booty but still there after all of the illigalities that Bush has perpurtrated(spel?).

The South American answer was a 180 from what we are getting. And, he is genuine...he means it. As for censure: he absolutely believes in holding people accountable. Currently, I think he believes that with bush so weak, he can be contained until we get him.

BTW, I've seen him in front of large crowds and he can get them going with the best of them. This was a small crowd and ended a long day. What I took from the people who were with him, the best was in the morning at Heinekker. Although, I'm happy to see the Q and A. He is talking about important things specifically.

ps What Biden said doesn't match what Biden has been up to; therefore, I did a fair amount of yelling at the screen.

34. I believe that he wants to win the house, and then impeach Bush....
but Doesn't want to simply spank Bush on the hand with a censure...cause at the end of the day, Bush would still be President...and so that wouldn't help the nation in a long run, and in fact would make us look even worse by the world...considering that we have President who breaks laws at will and doesn't pay the price for it.....but instead would continue as our President.

Clark didn't use the word impeachment because a wake up call to the Republicans before 2006 election with that threat, would have them coming out of the woodwork to vote and protect their fucked up President.

35. I agree
He seemed to be saying that a further weakened president still in office is not the best solution, but then referred to "corruption" on the part of bushCo. If your going to take bush out...then you really got to take him out. I'm not sure what exactly Clark has in mind. bush can eventually be brought up on other charges once out of office. Now putting bush in the slammer might be even better.
