"No amnesty for lawbreakers" said Sen George Allen
Sun AM w/ Geo Stephanopoulos

So why change the law for a lawbreaking President for warrantless eavesdropping?

Really, so many remarks coming from the Far Righteously Right on the immigration issue can be turned right around against BushCo for warrantless eavesdropping.

"Why reward lawbreakers?"

"Make it a felony!"

"We are a nation of laws!"

1. So you're going to go to the Senate
and insist that employers who employ illegal labor go to jail, are you?

2. Let me sort this out: Juan smuggles his family into Mexico illegaly...
Edited on Mon Apr-03-06 04:20 AM by wake.up.america
- he needs to work so the family can survive because the Mexican economy is in shambles, in large measure because of graft and corruption.

The very same people who want to put him in the slammer or cart him back to Mexico steal more than this little guy could imagine.

Let's have equal justice for everyone.

If Bush is allowed to steal millions, why should Juan not have a chance at providing the bare essentials?

3. WHY DON'T WE BEGIN BY APPLYING THAT RULE TO THE FIRST LAWBREAKER
AND HIS GOONISH CABINET? ALLEN'S PROPOSAL WILL STAND ON MORAL LEGS WHEN HE FIRST APPLIES IT TO BUSH AND HIS CRIMINAL CRONIES.

4. That "no amnesty" should apply to..........
....illegal aliens and ALL corporations, ALL mom-and-pop companies who hires illegal aliens, as well as anyone and everyone who provides houses/apartments to illegal aliens. That way no one is let off the hook and the problem gets solved.

5. Asshat of the first degree...
he proves it on a daily basis. He loves nothing more than to hear himself talk, and the only one that makes less sense than him doing it, is the idiot-in-chief.

7. "Amnesty" is not on the table...
Some propose that resident illegals be given the right to earn citizenship. Pay fines, pay back taxes, stay out of trouble, etc. Their Sainted President Reagan issued an amnesty.

"Nation of Laws!" I remember all the "Rule of Law" bleating directed against Clinton's parsing a phrase describing a consensual affair. But an illegal president can start an illegal war & it's OK.

8. You underestimate the GOP ability
It has to be present at an almost cellular level: The ability to compartmentalize and wall off their own rhetoric from any practical application to their own shenanigans. That's why, after the Harriet Miers nomination to the Supreme Court collapsed, they're still able to come out and with a straight face insist on the hallowed "up-or-down" vote on the next piece of human flotsam nominated by the corrupt Bush administration. And then turn right around and deny a vote to any Democratic initiative to investigate any of the many crimes of the Bush administration.

And yet, for all this flip-flopping, the major media are wholly incapable of seeing it.

9. ah...uhm, wouldn't that be CORPORATE MEDIA?
The reason so many people are getting 'hip' is that the hucksters at corporate media are losing that gloss they worked to get for so many years. When you see the truth as compared to what the hucksters report the difference gets quite glaring.
