Do votes in your state really count? TrueMajority petition targets DIEBOLD

Movement for Honest Elections Grows in Congress

For two years, TrueMajorityACTION members have been leading the fight for honest, accountable ballot technology in American elections. The "Computer Ate My Vote" campaign has generated hundreds of thousands of messages, letters to the editor, and news stories. Now, the tide is turning toward victory.

Twenty-seven states now require voter-verified paper trails to ensure an accurate recount if there is a question about the outcome of an election. In Congress, Rep. Rush Holt (D-NJ) has introduced legislation (HR 550 — The Voter Confidence and Increased Accessibility Act) that has the bipartisan support of more than one-third of the House of Representatives and has been called the "gold standard" by good-government groups across the country.

To sign the petition to make sure your representatives support HR 550 and voter-verified paper ballots, click here: http://action.truemajority.org/campaign/support_HR550?rk=ppwxST716XvmE

9. only people who want their votes to count need to sign this petition
Edited on Mon Apr-03-06 07:49 AM by Jeffersons Ghost
Some people may just want to waste their expensive gas and drive to the polls in November to cast an electronic vote with NO PAPER TRAIL, so the ruling elite can later say, "In a close election, Republicans win again" and again and again, etc. Get it? No paper trail means no recount and no more fair elections. Some here might still like the Republicans but I swear by everything holy, almost everyone will eventually regret supporting that gang of crooked millionaires.

What does it take? Can you afford gas to sell for $5 a gallon?

Can you afford to let fear motivate you to keep voting for a party that openly and blatantly serves only the idle rich?

Do you want to continue to live in a country that suppresses basic human dignity and freedom?

Most of all, do you want your vote to count?

Please vote for this thread like there is no tomorrow; because if we don't do something now the future is truly in jeopardy.

12. I've been working with TrueMajority for a few months
They have never spammed me and I can tell they only share my name with Congress and my email addy with NO ONE! It's easy and it's fun! TrueMajoriy will really bring about the kind of changes we all want and need. By myself, I am not much of a consideration in DC but when my name joins thousands of others on a petition, Representatives take notice.

Would anyone like some toast? It's a bit old and flakey but perfect when it comes to spreading it on thick.

I hope everyone, even Republicans, see the value of preserving our election process. How could ANYONE want America to degrade into a police state where only the idle rich pick our leaders?
