Where would we be without General Electric ?
Yes, they make lightbulbs. But they are not the only ones.

They also make weapons of war. They are one of the world's largest defense contractors. They soak up tax dollars like a sponge would soak up water. But, they never advertise this side of their business. They prefer to work in the shadows.

They also make the news. They sign the paychecks for people such as Tim Russert, Chris Matthews, and thousands more that are putting out the "news" to the people. But, not one of those thousands ever makes mention of the connection between their company and the "news" they are giving at the moment. They are undercover propagandists, looking to rob more money from the taxpayers of this country, you and I, to stuff the coffers of the themselves and the defense industry.

Just worthy of a mention, this morning.

11. Donahue wasn't reaching an audience
He had the lowest rated show in the time slot. At least Oberman has raised ratings.

7. Yes -- it is very sad
This is why nobody who has to answer to these monolithic corporate masters can be fully trusted. Not that someone like KO would deliberately mislead, but as you say, his choice of topics and targets must surely be limited by his employer.

15. that is why i have refused to watch nbc news
my only guilty pleasure on nbc is will and grace.

and THAT will soon be gone.

i'm at the point of watching nothing but premium channels, or niche channels. (hgtv has LOTS of gay folk! bravo is supportive, too.)

jack welch should be tried and convicted of treason, along with every other talking head/news anchor that has parroted the lies of the great and wonderful w.

lies, distortions and smears, OH MY!
lies, distortions and smears, OH MY!

fox should be held especially accountable, since they make no attempt to be a serious news outlet, instead taking the lies, distortions and smears to new heights. cnn also, since they grovelled on their belly, slithering like snakes, trying to mimic fox.

i can only hope that once the democrats take back power, a thorough accounting will be had of ALL the tiny (and some not so tiny) steps to fascism that the gop, the media, and enabling-democrats-in-name-only, have taken to reduce this once great nation to an economic third world status, who thinks we can act as the world bully.

not to mention the apathetic, self-centered, dumbed down american public.

sometimes i get so mad i could spit nails.

:grr:
