bush can't give the fema job away

Seven people have declined the offer to be director of fema in the bush administration. Wonder why? Its an administration of competence and integrity and honesty and openness. Just a building full of happy, flag waving patriotic "christians." I truly can't figure out why anyone would not want "worked for the bush adminstration" on their resume.

They should tap him. There's nothing like administrative work in horse wrangling to prepare you for disasters.

Though, to be fair, why would anyone want to be director of FEMA? Kind of a thankless job unless you're a saint. Basically you come to public attention after a disaster hits. People not exactly in a great mood.

3. You would think a good leader

would not have any of his jobs "thankless." FEMA became a thankless job because bush put it under homeland security. One would think a Katrina response boss would have cabinet level status. Gosh when did that ever happen?

Witt actually did a heckuva job. But Dubya would never do anything like that.

4. Probably because....

...hurricane season is less than 60 days away. Everything from the upper air flow to the North Atlantic (negative) Oscillation to the current sea-surface temperatures indicate that we will have a season as bad if not worse than last year. In addition, debris fields left from last year are still not cleaned up and will become flying projectiles during a cyclone.

All in all, Chucklenuts and Friends are looking at a bad summer which will lead to a bad election which will lead to their impeachment, their forced removal from office and their imprisonment.
