there was an editorial in our local rag yesterday about Time magazines story on global warming and the "editor" (and I use the term lightly)called it irresponsible journalism and said the climate change literature is filled with words like "could", "may" and "if". So my thought is a reply to this with quotes if possible using much the same kind of argument that the bush administration used words like this to take us to war. I'm asking for help finding these kind of quotes from members of our illustrious government. Any help here would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

3. I think shrubs specialty is setting up a straw man argument.

"Some say", "Others think", "Some people believe", even though nobody has ever said, or believes, or thinks what he is saying.

He never elaborates who "they" are.

It's pretty slick. You get to set up your non-existent opponents argument for him, and get to tear it down.
