". . .in Georgia legislature passed a bill earlier this week that will create state-funded Bible classes in Georgia public schools. And just a few days later, they passed legislation that will put the Ten Commandments in county buildings. Both bills are now headed to Governor Sonny Perdue for final approval.

Georgia needs to know that we're watching and will do whatever it takes to stop these blatant assaults on the separation of church and state. Don't waste a minute -- click here to tell Gov. Perdue to veto these bills.

For years we've known that the religious right will stop at nothing to push their theology in the public square. These aggressive efforts in Georgia show that the religious right is only getting bolder.

The Bibles in schools bill is particularly shocking. The bill includes a requirement that the Bible act as the core textbook for these new courses, which is clearly unconstitutional. You might remember that a federal judge last year ordered Georgia's Cobb County school district to remove stickers from science books that questioned evolution. The court ruling was an important victory for science. However, the passage of these bills once again puts Georgia in the crosshairs of the religious right's assault on our Constitution. "

9. I would love to be the teacher!

Christians really should ask themselves, "do I really want a teacher who may be Jewish, Muslim, Atheist or even from a Christian sect with widely different notions on how to interpret the bible teaching my child from the bible?"

Towards the end of the 2nd chapter, you will see where it says that the Lord God tells the other gods he is going to kick Adam & Eve out of the Garden of Eden to deprive them of immortality (the Tree of Life). Nor does he claim he is doing this to punish them for disobeying his order not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge. The Lord God freely admits he is doing this because Knowledge plus Immortality would put us on equal footing with the gods.

"So the Lord God admits to being motivated solely to maintain his own selfish power. In other words, the Lord God is our greatest enemy."

10. These folks are SUCH HYPOCRITS! Here's what's going on in

my grandkid's school.

They are staying with me this week, beca use it's "spring break"! HOWEVER, they have school...full days...during Easter week. They don't even have 1/2 day on Good Friday! When my son called and asked if it would be Ok for them to stay here (to save on childcare costs) I asked him what in the world are these people thinking? This is Ga. and they insist on teaching the Bible in school, putting the 10 Commandments everywhere, but they're NOT observing "Holy Week"?????


He said he had NO IDEA why they're doing this, and neither do I!!!!!

Probably the best we can hope for is secession. I say let the loonies have GA, TX, UT, SC, FL, and a few other states and run them however they see fit. Once order is restored in DC, this kind of anti-americanism will swiftly be cut off from federal funding, and they'll see what it's like to live without sucking off the government tit for awhile - if you can't abide by the constitution, then you won't get a single dime in federal funding. Then all these nuts who are living off of the hard work of the blue staters can either go back to living by the law of the land or suffer the consequences.

Let them live in their little Dominio-fascist dream world where the Bible is the law of the land and the government can't tell them what to do, but also doesn't give them any money. Then just see if they really like it so much. For when they no longer have the government funneling all the "faith based" funding to them and giving their McChurches tax breaks things aren't going to be so rosy. :evilgrin:
