I think we should lay off the Exterminator part of the DeLay Story |
|
Exterminators are hard working people and they perform a valuable service. If you ever have termites infesting your house you will be glad to get a good one. Let's be clear. Tom Delay owned an exterminating company. He wasn't out in the field doing the dirty work. I would wager that Tom Delay can't tell a termite from a bed bug, let alone a flying ant. Tom DeLay is a corrupt politician. Good exterminators are honest people putting in an honest day's work who don't get paid by Jack Abramoff to play golf in Scotland.

4. When Congress was likened to "cockroaches," or Delay is called a "maggot" |
|
it means only one thing: "Tom Delay gassed his own people."
Other than hating to give up that line, I know you're right.

5. Exterminator refers to his behavior in politics... |
|
He destroyed his opponents and exterminated all standards of ethics.
If 'exterminator' did not refer to his behavior as a politician, then it would not be being used -- if he had been an electrician there would be no double entendre...
Just suggesting that it isn't meant as a kick to the groin of hardworking, decent people - IMHO

6. The exterminator part is why he got into politics - it's important |
|
and it's not a bash against all exterminators to point that out. DeLay wanted to continue using a chemical that had been banned, so decided the best way would be to change the law so he ran for office. He has relentlessly bashed the EPA for years.
