I got a call this week from a volunteer with Lyndon LaRouche's office (I know, a really credible source) and she was telling me that the military had implemented regulations allowing Special Forces to take leaves of absence from active duty in order to perform work for civilian contractors and then return to active duty at their normal rank and salary. Her assertion was that this was a new policy developed in order to allow Special Forces to conduct operations outside the scope of normal US military laws and policies, i.e., as "civilian contractors" they were not bound by the Geneva Convention or military law, were not subject to military courts martial, in other words, they could terrorize, torture, and murder to their hearts content with legal immunity.
Okay, so Lyndon LaRouche is a pretty hard-core conspiracy theorist, which is why I'm seeking confirmation of this allegation from other sources, but I confess, it sounds plausible to me. Has anyone else heard anything about this?
