Why do middle age white man, usually balding ,dominate our politics

Also usually fat...They are always extremely opinionated politicians...Think that God put them here to rule the fuckin' world, they honestly think that what they think and want to do the BEST way to do things, they think all other people should listen to their ideas...etc.

I can't wait for the govt. to be dominated by women, African Americans, and other minorities!!!

I am sick of all of them in the Senate...Fat Rush and O'Reilley also fit the bill...

the majority of the population could really care...how many people voted in the last election in 2004? like 30 some percent of the electorate? Wow, 70% of people not giving a rats ass...I think, this is one of the main reasons why, these idiots stay in power(i know there are more), but what good is it, when only a fraction of the voting populace, actually vote? People, by and large, just don't care...I think, thats a bit disturbing....

Once, when I used to work with Pre-med students, I had a very privileged kid tell me that he was the most discriminated against kid applying to med school that year.

And I thought, oh, you mean that oppressed group . . . the "C" students?

No. He proceeds to tell me that it is because he is a white male, and some minority or woman (with maybe a "B" average) was going to get his spot.

I actually gave him the "tiny violin" routine right there. And I thought it just really epitomized the attitude you describe.

And I asked him. Why do you think it was your spot in the first place? How could it be taken away from you unless you think you had some prior claim? And that would be based on what?

He was too shocked to even be angry. He had never considered such a question.

I think that pretty much sums it up. These guys are absolutely socialized to feel entitled to rule over others.

37. Term Limits

I heard another take on term limits recently that I hadn't heard before. In the California Legislature, since term limits passed, the number of women and minority legislators has increased. Although I oppose term limits, think it's a dumb idea and only hurts us, I do think that's a definite positive. A silver lining, eh?

Due to term limits, we've lost many folks who were fighting the good fight and making good legislation, people like John Burton, John Vasconcellos, Lloyd Connelly, etc.

That's my two cents.
