Kristen Breitweiser:Why does Guiliani get to give victim impact statement?
Huffington Post:

Kristen Breitweiser

Giuliani's Deadly Impact? (5 comments )

Can someone please explain to me why Rudy Giuliani gets to give a victim's impact statement at the Moussaoui penalty phase hearing? Which family member did Guiliani lose in the attacks?

Forgive me, but Giuliani is the person responsible for deciding to locate NYC's emergency command center in the World Trade Center along with a diesal fuel tank (against the advice of certain FDNY officials) before 9/11.

Locating the city's emergency command center in a known al Qaeda target (the towers were struck in 1993 and al Qaeda publicly promised to return to finish the job) was a colossal failure in judgment on his part that cost hundreds of lives on 9/11.

During the attacks, because the command center was rendered inoperable, NYC had no clear chain of command and no physical command structure in place to coordinate the emergency response. Frankly, the whole reason Giuliani was on television all day and available for interviews was because he was scrambling around the streets trying to set up a command post since the one he had designed and located was paralyzed during the attacks.

Anyone who wants to witness the results of NYC's abysmal emergency response to the attacks need only listen to the recently released 911 tapes that chillingly reveal a total lack of coordination and flow of vital life-saving information plaguing the city and its emergency response apparatus that day. (By the way, Mayor Bloomberg has yet to fix the 911 system--even five years later.)

Furthermore, Giuliani is also responsible for giving the FDNY inoperable Motorola radios. This, too, cost hundreds of lives when firemen did not hear the order to evacuate the towers prior to their collapse. (By the way, those radios are still not fixed--blame this on Bloomberg, too.)

How is a man who is responsible for such horrific and deadly judgments invited to give a victim's impact statement as to how 9/11 impacted him?

By these standards, should I expect Condoleezza Rice (Ms. "Nobody knew planes could be used as missiles"), George Tenet (Mr. "I failed to tell the FBI for 18 months that two known al Qaeda killers were living in San Diego and planning the 9/11 attacks"), and perhaps, George Bush (Mr. "I was reading a story about a pet goat while thousands of people perished and burned alive in the World Trade Center because I didn't want to alarm the school children.") to provide victim's impact statements, as well?

6. Wow. Check out this comment from another 911 widow. (Too late to edit OP)
"As one of the 9/11 widows who fought tirelessly for the safety of the nation with Kristen, I must add that while she aptly and cogently states the truth about Mr. Giuliani she neglected to include the most heinous act of all. When we met with him to get support for an investigation into the 9/11 failures (9/11 Independent Commission) he told us that it was none of our business and that the agencies would fix themselves. Perhaps he didn't want anyone questioning why he had shipped out the steel from the building prior to inspection. Or better yet why he didn't protect the rescue workers and New Yorkers from the deadly air quality at ground zero.

President Giuliani?? I don't think so. "

7. You are so right.....whatever anyone feels about who was...
responsible for the 9/11 attacks. His actions in the aftermath of the attacks, regarding the evidence and the air quality, deserve criminal indictments.

3. Very true - Rudy made his share of deadly mistakes
His only claim to fame is that he was available for the cameras when Dimson and Crashcart were AWOL on 9/11.

12. Couldn't agree more.
This shameless man rode those collapsing towers all the way to hero status by simply appearing calm. Isn't he the same asshole that blatantly cheated on his wife while holding office?

9. Women like those make me proud to be an American.
And their treatment by the government has been shameful.

Condi lied to their faces when she said the "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US" memo did not
warn of new attacks.

When they protested 9/11 Commission Executive Director Zelikow's conflicts of interest, he
ignored their demands that he resign.

And most of their questions, the ones the Commission promised would be a roadmap for their
investigation, were not even addressed, let alone answered.

13. She is a truly great person
She has channeled her love for her husband and grief to have such a positive impact. We are all lucky to have her fighting this fight. Very impressive and an excellent point she raised. I also thought it was odd and so exploitive of Guillani to make a statement. Anyone else would have refused but not Mr. Ego.

14. Instead of the United 93 Bushit propaganda set for this summer...
Hollywood needs to make a movie about people like Breitweiser and Sibel Edmonds!

15. The United 93 propaganda is a gift of an opportunity to point out
the evidence that the plane was shot down just as the passengers were taking control.
The debris was scattered over six miles. That makes sense only if the plane came apart
in the air.

Here's Newsweek:

“In the final moments of this struggle, according to the families who heard the tape,
voices that seemed muffled and distant all of a sudden became clearer,” says Longman....
“That’s the government theory, that they actually got inside. Near the end you hear —
in English — words, ‘roll it up,’ and ‘lift it up,’ or ‘turn it up,’ or ‘pull it up.’
The families have taken that as a sign that they were — the passengers and perhaps crew —
were trying to take control of the plane.”

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/3080117/

If 93 was shot down, you have to wonder what was the hurry? If it was aimed at DC they'd
be over Blair Witch territory for another ten minutes.
