But the ads and other campaign maneuverings reveal very different campaign strategies are being used by the two parties.

The ads financed by the national Republican group focus on attacking Busby.

Busby's ads, which the national Democratic committee is helping to pay for, tout her as the candidate for "change" and attack the Republican party.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has already invested more than $200,000 in helping to pay for television advertisements for Busby's campaign, committee spokesman Bill Burton said Thursday. The committee has also sent Democratic operatives to San Diego County, who are "helping with the votes by mail and the field program bringing literature to people's front door," Burton said.
