Have the late-night TV folks STOPPED making fun of * yet?
I wonder if this will get so bad that at some point they have to uit making light of it. In Nixon's last days, were Carson and others still making jokes about him, or did there come a time when it got too serious to laugh about?

1. I read somewhere that Johnny eventually stopped the Nixon jokes.
He felt that Nixon had been "kicked around" enough, so to speak. Bush -- now he's someone who deserves to be figuratively kicked into a bloody pulp.

2. At first I felt the jokes about Bush were good - but now

I wonder if joking about a dictator is helpful...

3. Dave Letterman ....
Has been lambasting Bush/Cheney for years now .... and the latest negative news has given him much to use ... He seems to relish embarrassing those idiots as much as possible ....

I love Dave for that ....

Even Jay Leno, usually a boot-licking waterboy for the Bush WH, has been laying into him lately ...

5. They never seemed to tire of making...
"Monica" jokes. Considering that a certain percentage of people get their "news" from those late night monologues, I'd say they have a responsibility to keep it up.

6. That's my point though
the Monica thing is past, and was a joke all along. What we're in now is deep, serious shit.

7. I agree on the seriousness of the incompetent...
and criminal behavior of BushCo. And it is hard sometimes to hear it treated as a joke. But, it is one way to reach people who will otherwise tune-out political news. Drip, drip, drip.

8. I tune in every week to SNL and haven't seen
anything on him lately. Of course SNL has sucked for years, I rarely can watch more than the first 30 minutes until I get discussted and shut it off.
