Edited on Sun Apr-09-06 11:55 AM by Phoebe Loosinhouse
I would like Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi to tell me specifically what would be an impeachable offense to them. Because it isn't lying the country into war, it isn't leaking and exposing classified documents and CIA agents, it isn't leaving people in New Orleans in attics and rooftops to die while they're on vacation and eating cake, so what IS it? Really, what does a guy need to do to get impeached around here?

6. Nah, no BJ needed
Just be a Democratic president.

Remember, the movement to impeach Clinton started--well, before he took office, essentially.

The nutcases in Arkansas were already conspiring with various GOP leaders to find something--anything--they could use to impeach him with before he took office.

He hadn't even heard of Monica yet at that point.

7. Yup, exactly.... They'll find SOMEthing.
After that, all they need is to get the president under oath -- even in a bogus trial that gets thrown out of court, in testimony judged immaterial to the case.

12. since the coup of 2000
there is no crime--NO CRIME--that king george could commit to cause impeachment

I'm not convinced that the current crop of Dems would unite behind impeachment even if they take back Congress in November.

13. Lose control of the senate and Congress.

Republicans are not going to vote to impeach Bush except in our wet dreams, so unless/until there are sufficient Democratic Senators and Congressmen/women to do it an attempt would be merely an empty (and worse than empty, self-destructive) gesture.

14. A blast from the past
"An Impeachable offense is whatever the House of Representatives says it is." - Gerald R. Ford.

Just one more reason why the Dems have to take control of Congress.
