The Republicans know that the average person is politically uninformed, but they can RELATE to personal foibles.
So, the Republicans do what works - should we?

Not tell lies about people but just really, really emphasize their personal failings?

What has set me to thinking about this is that I heard one sentence at the end of Tweety's show about Hillary saying something like "Get your a__ over here." It was from a book some guy had written.

The big one, of course, was the Bill Clinton sex episode.

As I said, people understand that - they DON'T understand or care about leaks, wiretapping, Tom Delay, etc.

1. Leaks and wiretapping are not "regular, every day" problems to

a lot of people. Gas prices are. Bush's constant lying is getting to them more and more but once was not a concern. The war in Iraq, when it hits home to a relative, friend or neighbor is a problem. Things pile up against this administration. They look like they can't do anything right. THAT is what will topple them in November. It's already evident in the polls.

2. I think it is perfectly legitimate

when it relates to hypocrisy. Such as, Next Gingrich and his "family values" stance in twice divorced (isn't that right?) or OxyRush and his "anti-drug stance" Other than that, I don't like it, but if they're throwing punches, you've got to punch back.
