People are normally not lined up to get a gander at Bush as he leaves the WH. Is the fact that there are actual people in these pics due to some special occasion or is it just a lame attempt to boost his numbers?

...or ARE these actual people?

1. I can't answer your question, but I can say
that this photo looks like something from the Omen.

:scared:

Looks like he's leaving the WH via the visitor's entrance.
I don't think I've ever seen * do this either -- it's usually quickly to and from Marine One on the lawn.

4. Done on purpose to make him look like he is popular and...
has support from the American people. Definitely leaving the White House through the visitor area. This administration is so desperate at this point they will try anything. What a bunch of losers.

7. It looks as if he is trying to do that trick where there is a space
between the pinky and the other fingers - but it is much harder to do it with a space between the two middle fingers. Of course Bush would take the easy way out and think he had accomplished something. But to be fair, he has so few successes these days he has to show off the ones that he does have.

I know the muralist who painted that wall with the likenesses of middle American white people.

(I made that up, but you get my point.)

16. I do remember a story during the campaign two years ago, about
how * needed some positive pictures and so they herded a bunch of WH staffers and a few stray tourists out to the lawn to wave and look like supporters.

In fact, I thought this was that same picture, from 2 years ago.

19. This is actually very common, what is unusual is the angle of the shot
There are always people out on the rope line. It's why you see Presidents doing that goofy wave when they get on and off the helo. They are usually staffers working in the WH and EOB; on rare occasion there might be a few slobs from the cabinet staffs who get a chance to hang out. And sometimes, they bring their kids to have a little brush with history....

Who knows, maybe they are all getting what they might begin to suspect are their last looks in??? The rope lines got HUGE when Nixon was in hot water....
