Call today to help Busby win.
We've identified thousands of Busby supporters. Today is the special election so it's our last chance to make sure they vote. Let's make this the first GOP election loss of 2006!
Can you call from home for 30 minutes today to get out the vote?

The election could signal whether Republicans are in trouble because of Cunningham's spectacular moral collapse, the conviction of Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff, and the resignation of former House Majority Leader Tom Delay.—San Diego Union Tribune1
Dear MoveOn Member,
It's Election Day in California's 50th District, where progressive Francine Busby is looking for the last few hundred votes to win a seat in Congress.
Official Washington will be glued to CNN today to see what message Californians send to America: is it time for a change, or more of the same? This is an important predictor of the fall elections and a rare chance to take back a Republican seat.
The district leans Republican so Busby is in an uphill fight. But we've already identified thousands of Busby supporters and today is our last chance to encourage them to vote.

Turnout is usually low in special elections, so the voters we contact could make all the difference.
Plus it's easy and fun:
"I've done this in S.F. and expected to be hung up on. The people I reached were gracious at least, wildly enthusiastic at best. My last caller actually said 'thank you sweetheart". We so agreed that the country needs Francine so very badly."—Sandra, San Francisco, CA
"I think this new system is great. Having made calls for MoveOn before, I think this is even easier and more efficient."—Gerald H., Upper Darby, PA
"Husband of voter said he had 15 voters in the house and he told them all to vote for Francine-I heard him!"—Janice, Saratoga, CA
This race could help set the stage for taking back Congress in November. One key political observer in Washington explained this week the importance of this race: "If Busby wins, the contention from Democrats is Katy-bar-the-door there's a hurricane coming—if a Democrat can win in a heavily Republican district there it suggests they can do it across the country."2
The best times to call today are from 8-10 a.m. and 5-8 p.m. (all times are Pacific).
Please take 30 minutes to help Busby win today. Click here to get started:
