More Pentagon skulduggery. Military spying on gay groups.
Edited on Tue Apr-11-06 08:13 PM by killerbush
The Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, has released documents under the Freedom of Information Act that confirms the military has had under surveillance, and still is spying on, organizations working to repeal the "Don't ask, Don't Tell" policy of the Clinton administration several years ago.

The Dept. of Defense has monitored protests against DADT policies at college campuses in New York City, Berkeley and Santa Cruz California.

Steve Ralls, the legal defense networks communication director, had an angry statement today. He said "The very idea of the federal government believing that freedom of speech is a threat to national security, is absolutely unconscionable".

9. Wow, talk about naive!
They were spying on Democratic politicians long before they were spying on groups seeking to repeal DADT.

10. Do you ever wonder why that's never come up?
If you're more aware of spying on politicians, I'd love to see a link, and wonder why no one has complained personally, outspokenly, and publically?

11. I have no link, just strong suspicions
With growing proof of secret and apparently illegal wiretaps on activist groups perceived as enemies, it seems logical that the Junta has been spying on all of its perceived enemies. That would include Democratic leaders.

And my "naive" comment was meant to be humorous. Sorry if it didn't come out that way :hi:

4. Believe me, they watch.
No one could be as paranoid as they are and stay out of THIS site!

I'd like to give a shout out to the NSA and the Pentagon. Good evening, Rummy! :hi:

5. If the military spent half as much time spying on terrorists...
as it does spying on peace groups, the ACLU, Quakers and gay organizations, we'd have nothing to worry about. :grr:
