The impact of this ticket would be heavy. Though an unlikely union, in this time of great peril, if these two statesmen joined forces to lead our country... it would be a great thing. I just dont see any combo of any other Dem. presidential hopefuls, generating as many votes. (on edit) I think Kerry would suspend his pres. desires under circumstances such as these.

1. You will not get consensus
definintely not this early in the game

What about Feingold, Clark, Edwards

Frankly, the campaigns of both Gore and Kerry were not particularly inspiring

If I had to choose, I would choose Gore over Kerry, but could support either one, though I think it would not be a slame dunk win. I would definitely NOT VOTE FOR Hillary Clinton. Her position on the Iraq war prevents me from MORALLY SUPPORTING HER

2. It *would* eliminate the possibility of a "squeaker" election
Edited on Wed Apr-12-06 02:42 AM by GrpCaptMandrake
that's certain. Nobody loses quite like Kerry.

We need a rule in the Democratic Party. Once you've lost, you go home. No more William Jennings Bryans or John Kerrys.

You'll notice I didn't say Al Gore. He didn't lose.

But Kerry? This had to be a  thing.

If my party nominates Kerry, I'll vote for him, regardless of the ticket position, just like I'd vote for Hillary. But I'd know, just as I did in 2004, that it's a losing proposition. America doesn't need another lecture from Mr. Ed.

3. How about Kerry-Dukakis?
Edited on Wed Apr-12-06 02:44 AM by BluegrassDem
If we're gonna lose, might as well go with 2 losers and lose even bigger. LOL

8. I was thinking along the same lines
Maybe Kerry-Mondale.

I love George McGovern, but I think he might actually win, absent a Nixon ratfucking his campaign.

4. dont mean to sound rude
from where im standing, that would be a dreadful ticket. two people completely devoid of any semblance of charisma or charm who also have form for managing to lose to a complete f**king idiot who couldn't debate his way out of a wet paper bag.

doesn't the democratic paty have any decent politicians? why do you need to recycle the garbage?

6. Dunno. Maybe it is dreadful. Jus thought they were big vote getters
Edited on Wed Apr-12-06 02:52 AM by henslee
and could do it again. As for the rest of the field, though it's early, I don't see a strong dem. candidate with charisma and gravitas. Not one.

5. You got the right idea
If you don't want the election to be a squeaker.

Kerry and Gore are both percieved by the public as losers.

And perception is 9/10th of the law.

Neither of them will ever get the Democratic nomination for President again, thank God.

9. You'll have a hard time convincing Al Gore.
But whatever we do, Hillary must NOT be the nominee.

11. Until the machines are un-rigged, there won't be any more squeakers.
The Repubs will win all future elections (all important ones) by a comfortable margin. Bush lost the 04 election to Kerry by a near landslide (about 5M votes) and the machines gave it to him w/ an alleged 3-4% margin.
