LETTER TO HILLARY: What do immigration and terrorism have in common?
I somehow got on Hillary's mailing list, and she sent me a speech on her economic policy. This letter is about what's left out:

Hillary,

I voted for Bill twice and would be willing to vote for you if you show a substantial difference in foreign policy from the GOP.

Two seemingly unrelated problems, illegal immigration and terrorism, and driven by the same causes: neoliberalism and corporate driven foreign policy. When we allow corporations to dictate trade agreements that drive down wages and deprive people in other countries of the ability to organize unions, when we set up our agricultural subsidies so farmers in other countries can't turn a profit, when we decide who is the democratically elected leader of a country not by how many votes they got in a clean election but by how much of their country they are willing to privatize and give away, we are drawing people here like a magnet, either to make a decent living or blow something up.

I realize you can't get elected by pissing off corporate interests, but you need to convince them that eventually the middle class will see that their misdeeds overseas harm us here, just as they are realizing the GOP equivalent of domestic neoliberalism is a scam.

You are being portrayed as the "inevitable" nominee. Please give us some reason to view that with hope not despair.

4.  9/11 Perps were U.S. Citizens - Not "Immigrants" or Foreign Nationals
The Terra-Ists who Caused 9/11 were U.S. Citizens, that is a fact known throughout the world at this point, including our own country and including the MSM.

There is absoulely no connection whatsoever of illegal immigration and "terra-ists" - the only terra-ists in this country are legal citizens and occupying the WH.

5. The 9/11 hijackers were NOT US citizens, for crissakes.

They were on visas: Fifteen from Saudi Arabia, two from the United Arab Emirates, and one each came from Egypt and Lebanon.

And immigration is intimately connected with security, maybe not terrorism per se, but it is something that should be coordinated under the umbrella of national security.

On edit: Before the accusation of being a nazi or racist or whatever nonthinking retort comes my way, allow me to say this. There is no reason why humanity can't guide and be considered #1 in all discussion and decisions on immigration. Most Americans realize immigrants are the soul of America and this issue divides the GOP, not Democrats (as much as some would love to pound that wedge into the discussion here at DU).

7. Loose borders = terrorists coming and going as they damn well please
Trust me - I live in Arizona - I know what I'm talking about. We have had several known terrorists "disappear" into Arizona from Mexico within the past couple of years.
