Okay, I was just reading May's Playboy. Stuck over on one side was the "Marginalia" stuff - little bits of interesting, news-worthy items.

One that caught my eye concerned Iran.

Was anyone else aware that Iran is planning on opening its own oil bourse? That is to say that Iran is planning to open a marketplace for oil like Pemex or Nymex, except that it will be based on Euros, not dollars.

Additionally, Iran is probably going to initially undercut Pemex and Nymex to lure customers in.

Now, I understand the need for regime change in Iran.

It's always about the fucking money, isn't it?

If these bastards weren't so dangerous, they'd be laughably pathetic.

Somebody needs to blast this onto the Blogosphere and give it some traction.

1. The neocons have been handwringing...

...over the Iranian Euro-denominated oil bourse for awhile now. I remember reading articles predicting the end of the US Dollar as the world's reserve currency and how that would usher in an era of famine, pestilence, death and, probably, a rain of frogs too.

I'm amazed Playboy carried the story. Personally, I only read it for the photos.
