"For Pete's sake, if you can't trust your Supreme Court justice more than"
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/04/12/supremecourt/main1493940.shtml

Scalia refused to step aside from deliberations in the case, rejecting arguments by critics who said his impartiality was brought into question because of a hunting vacation that he took with Cheney while the court was considering the vice president's appeal.

"For Pete's sake, if you can't trust your Supreme Court justice more than that, get a life," he said Wednesday.

So...if your SC justice is NOT trustworthy...then what? Isn't that the whole point of recusals anyway -- to pre-empt concerns about trustworthiness?

You know, sometimes this guy doesn't even sound like he went to law school.

4. Prematurely senile!
I wonder if his behavior suggests early Alzheimers is setting in. He seems positively belligerent, and he seems to be totally forgetting who he is and what the responsibilities of his position are.

3. Irony
scalia makes such a statement to placate the flag waving religiously insane assholes who say hell yeah, trust your supreme court members; unless of course they are the liberal bastards on the court. ann coulter would like to poison at least one of them. I do not trust you to do anything except fuck with the constitution scalia. You, like most "conservatives" in America do not deserve constitutional liberties.

9. That's right, if WE can't trust HIM, WE need to get a life. Apparently we
are watching him too closely.

11. For Pete's sake, if you can't trust your Supreme Court justice more
than this, impeach him and get a new judge!
