MGEN PASSED UP PROMOTION TO GET AWAY FROM RUMSFELD
MAJOR GENERAL Batiste must have been doing a helluva job for rummy and bush since he was identified for promotion to LIEUTENANT GENERAL (Three Star) and a return to Iraq as the second senior officer there. Instead, the proud professional gave up a promotion, thousands and thousands of dollars over a lifetime of pay and retirement because his boss was an arrogant, non team builder. And bush today said we need rumsfeld's "steady leadership." Our junior officers are leaving at the first opportunity and our senior officers are passing up promotions because of bush's administration.

No doubt, "conservatives" are still proud of the neocon monsters they helped to put in office.

1. I hope a Democratic president recalls a few of these guys
Because the way things are going, the only ones left at the Prison by the Potomac are a bunch of wusses, toadies, and crazyass fundies.

3. Great Idea
MGEN Batiste would be a great asset; if only competent civilian leadership would assist him and his fellow retirees. I never understood the cowardice of some senior officers.

9. I hope
I hope a Democratic president gets all these generals (and others interested) to serve on a committe on how to fix *asshat's mess in Iraq.

4. "....our senior officers are passing up promotions...."
Only the good ones, the evil Bush worshippers are still in place, men like Miller, Boykins, Pace, and
women like Fast.

These are the ones that will order troops to open fire on their own families without blinking an eye.
They are the ones that we should all be concerned with, Miller and Fast for their connections to the torture of prisoners, Boykins for his religious fanaticism, and Pace for his closed eyes and mind.

All are loyal to the Bush administration, and not one of them is loyal to this country.

5. I don't understand Pace
I hope he is just chomping at the bit to share the truth. Otherwise he is going down an incredibly sad path. You are right about those not wanting to pass and bush would promote boykins at the first opportunity.

6. That guy has spent too many years driving a desk and asskissing
He's out of touch.

That business with the hair dye of late makes me wonder if it hasn't affected his brain.

8. I dunno. I still recall the funny dueling press conferences
Edited on Fri Apr-14-06 01:59 PM by Husb2Sparkly
Where bush and rummy were saying without a shade of doubt that the 'new and improved' IEDs in Iraq were relying on Iranian components. Not ten minutes later, back at the (five sided) ranch a reporter asked Pace if they had proof the 'new and improved' IEDs in Iraq were relying on Iranian components.

Pace said, clear as a bell: "No Sir. We do not."

I've also seen him on 'stage' with Rummy, the two of them sort of debating a bit about what the truth is.

My jury's still out on Pace.

10. Rummy is "incompetent strategically, operationally and tactically",
no surprises in that statement.
